Bonneville GXP at your dealer for 2004!

The Bonneville because it is based off the same platform as the Aurora can readily accept the much larger and expensive 4T80 transaxle used with the Northstar family of V8's
The W-body on the other hand I have heard would require "extensive chassis modification" to accept the 4T80

I actually decided I was going to get it, but when I checked the resale value (A 2001 SSEi retailed for $19,000 or so , and had an original sticker of $35,000
) I quickly changed my mind... that is just ridiculous. But, I do really like the current styling of the exterior (except maybe the taillight setup) and the interior....
EDIT: I just realized how sad it is that I have been forced to look at all FWD cars, and some of them 4-doors to boot... This is why I hate it when Manufacturer personel say we are not forced into buying something we don't want, because if I could have found something RWD anywhere , I would have purchased that instead...) But the choices were few and far between. (No V8 Camaros or T/A's to be found at the time, CTS was too new, and didnt offer a discount at the time, plus they wre hard to find...)

.Just the same, you hit on my complaint about GM. There really isn't anything today I'd consider buying. With the Australian dollar now worth only about 50 cents, the GTO should cost us only about 30 grand, and that would be the only GM car I'd actually purchase.
But that's a pretty big should though. I have a feeling GM will keep the price at 35K & pocket the difference.
Here's something more:
