Yeesh. I still say that is one odd looking automobile.

I think i like it. That may have to do with me warming up to the regular 5 and 7-series's styling. It definitly took lots of getting used to though. Any more pics from other angles?

I've always prefered 5 series over the 3 with BMW. Most 3 serires are way too cramped.

Too big. Too heavy. Too expensive. Too UGLY. I liked my old '85 535i 5-spd. Pretty basic and simple, really, but on par with same-era Z28 0-60 and 1/4-mile times. Weighed ~3200 lb. The '88 M5 was still ~3400 lb., and was faster. Styling was conservative to the point of being austere, but at least it wasn't fricking GOOFY-looking. BMW have lost their way. I don't want variable ratio steering or anti-roll bars that disengage and engage, I just want a simple, basic, high-performance rwd sport sedan. The 3 and the 5 are both at least 500 lb. overweight, IMO. I'd rather forego the V10 and giant wheels and have a lighter-weight and cheaper machine with more visceral appeal.

There are so many things I like about the new M5. It's wheel/tire combo, it's agressive stance, it's 500 horse V10....but when I look at the current M5 and compare it to the future M5, I feel sad.

I think BMW has really gone down the crapper styling-wise. The Z4 is the worst, though.

Amen. This is one of the most irritating styling trends in recent memory.

Uglier than the last M5 and current 3 Series and the 6 series coupe, but better looking than the Z4 and 7-Series..... I guess thats BMW's equivilent to improvement!
