I'll take that bet.

Like it or not, I still don't know how anybody could see the car any other way.
It could only be more obvious if "Camaro Concept Design" was done in vinyl on the hood.
MHO as always.

Re: Bel Air, Camaro Concept NAIAS
Actually, the SS had tons of styling hooks in Camaro's past. It was GM's way of studying one design theme they were "considering" for the Camaro without letting the casual observer in on it. The SS theme was basically a modern car with several nods to the past (quad tail lamps like first gen, front end similar to 4th gen) DannoSS who saw the Camaro/Chevy coupe clinic said the car there was essentially a 2 door SS. Now the question is, did Danno see the Camaro, or the large GTO sister car that Chevy was gonna put on Zeta that "may not" have been Camaro. The Bel Air concept a few years back was also based on a design initially intended as a Camaro.
Either way, it seems pretty obvious that the SS theme was largely dropped or severly tweaked with a retro flavor. When I say retro, I mean you better like 69 Camaro's
They designed two front clips from the beginning (one sleek and modern, one retro), so it will be interesting to where they go with the body.

IIRC The chevy website had a page about the SS which compared it to a chevelle from the late 60s/early 70s. I always looked at it as a chevelle type, not a Camaro type car.

What he said and what the was unveiled are two different things. If anyone here can honetly say they saw NO Camaro cues on that car are just lying to themselves.

Re: Bel Air, Camaro Concept NAIAS
Scott may have said the SS had nothing to do with a future Camaro, but GM would be retarded to not use some of the cues as people loved that car.
I would expect we'll see a camaro with the Back 1/2 very similar to the SS, 2 door, with a litte more retro inspired sheet metal in the front all wrapped up on the Zeta Chassis (which is still undecided if it will be sitting on that chassis in January)...

But the profile, coupe-like side glass, and the 4 tail light treatment are not what we are talking about, right?
Re: Bel Air, Camaro Concept NAIAS
LOL!
I'm talking the whole car. The SS concept smacked of Camaro. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves and they know it.
Now that doesn't mean a "camaro" will be a clone of the SS concept. Far from it.

But the car you're going to see in January, isn't likely to be a rehash of the SS concept. Especially in the front end.
