Looks like an angry kitchen appliance to me.

The more I look at that interior the more I see Acura design queues. Compare the waterfall shape of the center stack to most of Acura's current lineup. The quirky shapes outside of the center stack remind me of possibly an even quirkier (now discontinued) Acura RSX.

Here's an Edmunds article:

I still say it would look best pushed off a cliff. The picture is likely a styling buck..which is why it looks photoshopped.
I don't think it looks too much like the current car at all. The overall shape of a hatch remains, but then again, I guess it looks just like a GTI if that is all your considering.

Might dig it in a way that involves removing it .

The more I see this car , if and only if they dont water down anything , it will look cool . The grill does need to go to finishing school though , its way to aveo5 looking .

It wouldnt even take to much , did some chopping

original

Recessed the grills a bit , moved the bowtie , little black lip under the grill , and finished of the bottom grill a bit so it looks less huge .

I like it! Though I'd like to have seen more power. Hopefully it at least gets killer fuel economy...

They are saying 40-44mpg with this engine in the Cruze. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Aveo has high as 45mpg. I might be geared for acceleration though, I still think a 30 city/40hwy rating is practical. Much much better than the current Aveo.

I like it.

I [i]REALLY like it.

But.... I'm under NO illusions about the actual car looking like this, though.

For what it is, its a nice looking car. However as others have said, we just know GM is going to waterdown the production version.

It looks pretty production-ish to me. I mean, I'm sure some of the details will change a bit, like the 19" wheels and mondo brakes (both of which would be crazy huge for a fuel efficient subcompact), maybe the projector headlights. That interior looks pretty production-intent. Door handles and mirrors will probably change, but I don't see why the production body wouldn't look a lot like this. The Camaro had a few detail changes from concept to production, as well, but overall stayed very, very close. And that was for a much higher profile image car. I'm assuming (hoping) that this car is being done similar to how Honda shows a "concept" car, in that it is basically the production car with on a few show car extravagances. Or like the Buick Regal GS "concept" car.

As an aside, the guage cluster is pretty cool, even though generally I prefer analog dials. It is very much like one from a sportbike, with the digital speedo / info cluster and the big analog tach.

Maybe, but they didn't with the Camaro, nor with the CTS coupe.

Is there not going to be a center arm rest? This is a concern of mine with the Fiesta too. Euro Fiesta doesn't have one.

That interior reminds me of my SVT Focus which I sorely miss. Hmmm...

I like it a lot! It's just the small car that GM needs. If the production version is done right Chevy will have a competitve small car instead of an also ran or not even invited car that they've had for so many years.

The key will be the production vehicle and what GM keeps on it and at what price will it come in at. But either way it's a far better and looks to be the most competitive small car GM has had in a really long time.

It looks mad.
But it looks better on the outside then it's predecessor and that's a good thing!
The ONLY wheels and exterior needs to be the good looking one.
People want a sporty cheap ecobox.
If they have to pay money to get the GFX, wheels and leather, it's NOT A CHEAP ECOBOX so they don't buy it.
Or the ones that get the base model have a crappy looking car with plastic steelie covers and you get a reputation for making a cheap POS.

Well, let's remember we're still talking the entry-level car segment here. People are very price-conscious at this level, and therefore automakers have to be as well. Even the Fit has wheel covers on its base models. Yeah, it'd be nice to one-up the competition, but you have to be realistic where you spend your money, and where your car fits in the overall pecking order.
