Aveo pitctures leaked
Word from GMI, is that is the actual production Aveo RS.
The standard Aveo will not have those headlights, the body kit, or the big wheels/tires.
In other words, it will be awful, like most B-class cars.
I believe the standard Aveo is supposed to start production in the summer.
The problem I have, is that they are showing the "all the bells and whistles production performance model" first. After seeing that............. seeing the tiny wheeled, blacked out plastic, no body kit, and boring lighted standard version, is going to be a real letdown.
I don't know how I feel about it. From the rear 3/4 look, it is good............ with the exception of the typical black fill-in panel in the C-pillar. From the front, I don't see it. The grille just looks wrong, and out of proportion.

Not really relevant but I recognize that background... it's good old Melbourne town... where the car was initially styled by Holden.
As another person mentioned, it's just a grainy few pics that have been photoshopped. Bigger wheels tend to make every car look better in pics than in person. At least I'm not disappointed with what I see (inside + out).
This car needs to change negative perceptions of GM more than anything. Where GM struggle the most is in the compact/medium segments. Time to rebuild and win back some market share. If Aveo is anything like Cruze it will be a solid product for GM. Fingers crossed.

Photoshop or not, I don't think it's bad, it's certainly an improvement.
For a tiny car like that, which is likely to be bought by the young, and the old who want attention or don't care about image, it's probably better that it be overstyled than understyled.

For the first time ever, an Aveo will actually have the hardware to be considered a hot hatch. Power in the RS comes from the turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder producing 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque that will also do service in the larger Cruze. The torque gets sent to those over sized 19-inch wheels through a proper six-speed manual gearbox.
I can't see a 138hp turbo engine requiring much airflow over an intercooler. It's probably just to make the car look aggressive.
Since it is turbo charged, I expect a "broad" power band and high gas mileage for its class. Otherwise I will ask myself "why?"
