Autoextremist: "Don't be surprised to see a Camaro concept this January".

I sure would hope not!
I talked to one of them about 5 minutes after he pulled in, he was just applying the touch up paint to the chips he got from driving all the way from Warren.

Good....no, great point.
But I think at this point, something concrete has to be shown soon. The production car needs to be as hot as the concept, though. I know exactly what you're saying about the Solstice.

Who's still around in production today, smart guy?
Retarded? Maybe. But not for the reasons I think you're promoting.
Wanna talk "sales plummeting"? I have the numbers. Mustang kicked our a**, and won. Case closed.
2002 saw 42,000 Camaros built on an extended year (15 months!).
Of those, 24,800 had the LS1 engine.
There were just over 35,000 Corvettes made that year.
Ford sold 142,000 Mustangs (the old body, not the new one).
Ford sold 43,800 GTs. If you want to add in the 9600 Mach1s & 6600 Cobras, feel free.
Short lesson? Not only did the LS1 get smoked in sales by the Mustang GT alone (not including the Mach 1 & Cobra), LS1 Camaros got smoked in sales by the Corvette!
Big powerful engines won't do jack. The 4th gen proved it. Even Mark Reuss admits the 4th gen didn't have the packaging to be successful in the marketplace. It's alot more than just that.
The "engine in a box" idea has not only been disproven, it's rotting in peace.
Leave it be.

Still, you are probably right about the other 99% of the population.

I dont know, I would not think that most people would cross shop the CTS with the 5th gen!!!

Thinking back to the old "have I outgrown the Camaro" thread, if Chevy restricts luxury content on the 5th gen, I would hope that Cadillac, Buick or Pontiac offers a "similar" higher content package. Think a V8, RWD Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible ....content wise, not styling.
