Anyone heard if they are gonna use the twin-turbo I6 ever?

I keep hearing how they are testing it...i was wondering if they plan on making it. It would be great to use in the Envoy, opposite a Trailblazer SS with a 6.0L

I don' think we'll see it in a performance application, though. The best we can hope for is that it gets into a smaller SUV/pickup...I remember talking over the issue with a certain Red Planet, and he thinks it won't work because drivers in the American market prefer instant acceleration grunt given by high torque of V8's and blowers rather than the spool-up time attributed to turbochargers...(I don't necessarily agree, given the popularity of the Evo, Wrx, Audi, etc., but that's his professional opinion, which obviously is more knowledgealble and outranks mine.) Note the poll feeling out the interest level of a S/C ecotec rather than a T/C one.

I doubt we'll see a TT I-6 (if we did, I'd be in line for a TT Trailblazer before another Fbody!).
I spoke w/ a GM guy at one of the shows, and he sounded real confident that we'd see the Turbo (or TWIN turbo) I-5 in the Belair. . .which leads me to believe that maybe we'll see a performance version of the Colorado with a Twin Turbo I-5. That could still be promising though.

My idea on the atlas I6:
Mix one part Corvette chassis with one part TT Atlas I6, throw on some Pontiac badged and tune it to 400hp. Sell it for $50k. Call it the Banshee. Watch future US spec Skyline owners flock to Pontiac dealerships. Watch future MKV Supra buyers run to the Pontiac dealerships. That car would gain so much attention from the media and public. It would thrive from the Supra/Skyline legends that exist in the public today with their turbo I6's. Keep it at 400hp and change the gears so that it's slightly slower than the base C6.
I know it'll never happen but a man can dream, right?
Put the TT I5 in a RWD application, and I'd buy it.

) version as the RS. Then they could also put the engine in a new Grand National.
