"Mid-size" has grown.

1995 Chevy Corsica = 183.4 in.
1995 Honda Accord = 184 in.

Challenger is a large coupe, but yet it is only 6 inches longer than a Camaro.

People thought the 4th Gen was on the large side for a sporty coupe at 193".

I would have preferred the Camaro stay at the concept's length....

And now a Honda Accord is nearly the same size as a "full-sized" Buick from the 1980s.

A combination of SUVs and big midsizers have killed the demand for large cars. Sales are down across the board, so I have my doubts that there's very much demand for a larger specialty product like a coupe.

The Camaro is a true mid sized coupe, just as it used to be.
If Camaro was as big or bigger then the Impala coughChallengercough, then that would be a LARGE coupe.
I think that the Camaro nailed a perfect size for your modern 2+2 coupes.
Camaro was not a mid-sized coupe.

It shared the same chassis as the Chevrolet Nova.

That's the same as sharing a chassis with a Cobalt today, which is where a new Camaro should rightfully be sized at.

Even as late as the 1990s, the Camaro was much shorter than a mid sized Chevrolet (Celibrity & Luminas were well over 200" long). The perfect size for a modern 2+2 coupe is what the old SN95 Mustangs were.

And I wouldn't be too harsh on the Challenger. Camaro weighs the same, is the same width, and gives up only about 2" in height.

Being a mere 7" longer than the new Camaro (or 4" over the old) doesn't exactly make it gargantuian either.

Mustang, Camaro, as well as Challenger are all very large cars for something that proports to be a modern sports coupe. At least in the Challenger's case, you get alot of room for the size.

Rear seat legroom in the Camaro (29") is cramped next to even a Cobalt SS's back seat (32").

Not directed at you, but people demand a 400 & 500 horsepower, large sized, independent rear suspensioned, loaded with standard features Camaro, then wonders why the thing weighs nearly 2 tons.

So...4 inches off the concept is HUGE, but 7 inches short of the Challenger is not a big deal?
Uh, yeah Challenger is a big car, 7 inches makes the difference between the Malibu and an Impala.

Camaro was based of the Nova, which if itw as a "compact" thats a BIG compact car. Corsa is more Cobalt int he overall line up, with Nova being something mroe midsized car. Ever sit next to a 4dr 68 Nova? Thats a pretty big "compact" car.
Chevelle/Malibu was a big mid sizer, with impala and caprice being over the top big.

Dear Lord Guy, we're agreeing more and more lately. Someone hold me, I'm scared.

Alright, sad news to find out. She never liked the look of the newer Montes (and I can't blame her) and her old one puts the new ones to shame in terms of looks. Guess she'll be moving a Buick or Pontiac or just finding something completely different. I doubt she'd get a Camaro, but it's a possibility.

Large Chevy Coupe... Can't get any closer to that than a Camaro. Challenger is the only coupe that is bigger on the market. Buick and Pontiac don't make coupes (other than the G5)
