When is this going to become the new Aura? 2010 model year hopefully since that'll give me one more option when my 335i lease is up in October 09.

It seems that the next Aura has been delayed. Lutz also recently said that the Aura would get a new interior and exterior vs an Insignia rebadge. I don't really know what sense that makes, unless of course, the plan is to move Saturn in with BPG, and they don't want to step on Buick's Epsilon toes.
What was the point of the Opelazation of Saturn again . The Astra and the Vue are really bout as far as they went ( Opel GT came after the Sky ) ...the Aura is more G6 than Vectra .

Wow look at that interior, the G6 could use some parts off of that dash like right now.

For some reason this thing screams the direction Buick is going to me. Regardless GM should stamp a Saturn badge on the grill and call it a day. Because that car would be hot over here, and please don't water it down like they did with the current Aura.

How about making this the next G6? I'll remind everyone (again) that G6 sales are up 26 percent retail, despite having no changes since 2004. Here in Chicago, they're positively ubiquitous. A really good G6 would sell like hot cakes.
My guess is that they're going to make some changes to make it a little cheaper to build and are probably examining powertrains.
They aren't extending the Aura an additional 5-6 years. They're extending the lifecycle of the current car to total 5-6 years. The Aura was JUST introduced in 2006 as a 2007 - so it is only in its third model year currently. With sales having been slow, why spend the money to replace a three year old car right now? They can probably eke out a couple of more years on the current Aura, which is still a nice car, and continue to absorb some of the costs.
The Insignia is gorgeous, but it prompts me to ask, what happened to all the people who clamored for the Astra to be brought over "Just as it was"? When GM announced they were going to bring it here, everyone wanted to make sure it was as close as possible to the European version. So, GM brings us pretty much the identical car and they now have a year supply on Saturn lots. People wanted it "just as it was" but now that it's here, basically identical to the Euro car, it's overpriced, underpowered, cramped, has a weird interior and no cupholders. Oops. Guess they didn't want the Euro car after all! Think GM might have noticed that, too?

Plus the gas mileage on them is nothing compared to its euro counterparts, or engine selection. There is No Turbo, No Diesel...they brought us a crap model and wonder why it has crap sales
