Looks like 6250 in those pix. My memory is that the old motor was close to that, but I don't remember whether it was 6000 or a little higher. It's been way too long since I drove a Viper... need to fix that...

So not only does you Honda meet LEV, so does the 600hp Viper. Someone needs to tell Honda their doing it wrong.:lol
LEV is the absolute baseline for emissions these days - you can't buy it in California if it's not at least LEV.

I don't know the actual percentage for LEV, but ULEV (a step above) is "50% less emissions that the average new model year vehicle", and SULEV (which many cars are rated these days, and not just Hondas of course), is "90% less emissions than the average new model year vehicle"

And then the absolute cleanest, I think, you can come to a true zero emission vehicle (which can only be fully electric... or maybe hydrogen powered?), is PZEV... here's a list of PZEV vehicles... it may surprise you.
They say the typical PZEV vehicle puts out less emissions while being driven than the average new model year vehicle does while just sitting at idle.

I thought that LEV was something special, guess I was wrong. I figured it was a big deal since it was mentioned in the artical.

Ahhh, these power wars are starting to get interesting . Although they're going to make our LS1's and LT1's start to look like child's-play .
Been thinking about losin' the LT1's myself, especially with the new LSX blocks GM is putting out. I am curious to see how far it will go though!
