Yeah, I thought that one was pretty cool. I think out of the group of 5th gens that was posted on C&G for the contest, this one was the best.

 

Crazy ,cuz I see 1st gen in there too. To me this is kinda what we need...past cues...evolved! Everyone see's something different in it. I don't know if this is close or not, and its just a drawing, but IMO, A very good one! I see 1st gen, without over the top retro, exactly what I always said could be done. The back could use some work, but its not bad. The front shot looks tough!

 

I suppose I could take the fender swoops/character lines as 1st Gen inspired... maybe the positioning of the upper grille too....

If that is as far as it goes, then I'm fine with it.

That is sort of the way that Corvette takes it's "retro cues", if you want to call them that. There's a general "feel" of the past, without actually copying it(or even really trying to)

 

I agree with y’all, there is a good mix of heritage in this concept but over all its modern and it say’s “CAMARO” to me.

I truly believe if GM built a Camaro like this and gave it the right performance hardware it would be a hit.

 

Hey Darth, did you ever see the concept(red Camaro model) that I did? If so, what did you think? I can't remember if you replied or not and I wanted to get the opinion of someone who is like me, in that they are against a retro Camaro.

 

Exactly. Retro is just a word. To me the C6 IS retro....done right not overdone. When I start to look closely at the C6, I see more of Corvette's past than probably every other Corvette Generation. I love the C6 its awesome, when you see it, there is no mistaking what it is, it conveys to me, everything that Corvette IS, and why I love Corvettes. That to me is what the 5th gen needs to be for Camaro. All you have to say is RETRO, and the ppl go nuts around here. We ALL have our own ideas of what RETRO IS. I want a car, that reminds me what Camaro was/IS. So when I say retro, this is what I mean. Not a retro copy! Maybe if I type it enough it'll take the sting out of the word Retro....I doubt it though. Still we must wait and see, but waiting is the hardest part!

 

Yup. I would definately buy that or the PHR versions.

Being totally honest, I prefer the sharper lines of Crispy's picture.... but I do not dislike yours.

I think yours has some strong 4th gen flavor to it... but mixed in with some 1st Gen Viper..... you really get a feel for the Viper flavoring on the top-down pictures.

I always thought that the design MT did looked better as a Camaro....

 

The outside could be cool, but I really hope the inside looks nothing like that...

I wanted to do something that had both curves and creases and a Camaro that would compliment the Corvette. It has been a few months now that I have completed this design and there are certainly things I would like to change but that isn't really possible.

 

I'm with him. I don't get all excited over it at all.
