Sadly, I'd buy one. Looks to me are incredible...

I have one HUGE complaint with the GT500...

The stock boost gauge only goes to 15psi! Put 20psi on that motor! Comon!

Rumor of it costing the same as the 2004 Cobra (if True) will sell those things silly fast.

Gotta admit, Ford did it with the Mustang when they first released it over 40 years ago. Wanted to sell 100,000 in the first year. After riots at dealerships they ended up selling 600,000 within like 18 months.

Also, the mustang was the first car to have an "options list" as we know it today. And with the new styling?

If I wanted a 2+2 new car, I know the GTO performs better and has better build (after riding/driving/looking over both) but for sheer "bam!" asthetics and the feeling of looking at that in your garage? I'd take the Mustang over the GTO. Not the regular GT Mustang though... the GT500.

And yes. The man sitting behind the wheel. I wonder what he thinks of the new version?

no actually, i believe the year would be 1965 when the mustang had no competition against a camaro.

see, in 1968 there WAS a camaro being produced. i believe the year 1965 would be a much better year for your argument due to its lack of such a camaro.

More thoughts-

If a new "Z/28" Camaro looks that good - I'll buy both and leave them side by side in the garage for fun.

However....

In the last picture, anyone notice the 22mm Emergency Stop switch and the guages on the pillar with Shelby driving it?

gauges? Those I could understand. It's probably not stock. But the 22mm Red "Push to Engage, Twist to Release" switch? WTF?

I'm nearly sure of that... I dont know about you though, but when I see a big red button, I have this great urge to push it. I wonder why it was there in the first place? What was it for?

Exactly. Ford needed a really big hit and they got a grandslam.

Well, just a few complaints

1. the interior isn't for me at all

2. WTF is up with those seats? Those are totally unworthy of being in a $40,000 sports car. If this car does manage to handle, you're going to be holding on for dear life just to stay in your chair. Saturn Ions and Dodge Neons come with better seats than that.

I've seen pictures of the 05 GTO before it went to production, and it had a similar button. It's just an emergency stop switch, nothing fancy. Don't want a fire in our expensive test car, do we?

Every pre production vehicle I've photographed has had it. Never really asked what it is for.

Either way, it's probably nothing we haven't seen already here.

At this stage, any drawing out there is speculative.
