Whether you like the new body style or not Ford is making a statement. They care about performane and style. They are taking risks. Look at what Chrysler is doing with the 300, Magnum, and Charger. They may be big but have lots of ***** and have unique styling. I'm even eying the mag / charger because I need a back seat big enough for three car seats.
What is GM doing? Not much. Yes I *love* the interior and power of the GTO but it is kind of plain on the outside. It is also a rebadged import. By killing the Zeta platform for a few years they are sending an opposite message: we only care about trucks, SUV's and rental car sedans. I actually think keeping the GTO as an import will be better for the car so it does not become "GM-ified" with the cheap-*** interior.
A coworker just got a new Acura TL (upscale Accord). Wow. The first time I sat in there all I could think is why can't GM do this. Kind of a shame.

That front end is just ugly. For my money, I would buy a new C6 and I just might do that in a year or two. It really is a shame that there is no Camaro because it would be great to see what Chevy would do.
Also, the whole "Shelby" thing just seems really lame. It is just a name tacked on to try and lure buyers and give it that extra retro flair that drives it over the edge. Isn't it true that Shelby had nothing to do with the development and testing of the car? I am sure it will work for them so I guess you can't blame them for doing it.

Defintely like the evolution of the front end treatment in that Shelby Cobra! Look out GTO...sexy & supercharged...
I'd LOVED to have seen BLOWN SS lining up with that machine!
But Alas........

now all we need is the orange judge GTO concept to come back...
with a blown LS2 pushing 550+hp of course
i've never liked the look of the '05 stang...but i gotta admit, this car is clean. but it could just be the c5 z06-ish wheels

A lot of people are saying "who cares about a new Camaro" when they see the new Mustang. Love it or hate it, you cannot mistake it for any other vehicle on the road today. It has presence. It has cool. It has heritage. Even gearheads at GM like it. You have to give those folks from Dearborn their due when it comes to performance vehicles as of late.

That interior is GROSS and what is the big red button? AN ejection button so you don't burn to death when it rolls over and explodes.

"Who cares if there's a 5th Gen?" WHO CARES IF THERE'S A 5TH GEN???
I care.
Seriously that Cobra is shaping up to be an outstanding value, and a fast ride, but come on people.....you think the pony car market is healthier with just one choice in it?
I care.

i'm all for competition, in fact i wish there was competition, but no company wants to be in the musclecar market other than FORD and they've produced a steller product even though there are a good 4 or 5 people that say otherwise.

Please tell me you are joking.
GM does care it just takes them twice as long to execute as oppose to ford or Chrysler.
