Does that mean just what it sounds like or is that some technical reference to use in a car that I'm not familiar with?
I know that all the new Lexus redesigns coming out are using all LED lighting for the interior (map lights, dome lights, radio display and button backlighting, etc. Still no word on headlights, though. We've been using LED lighting for our hiking trips for ~4 years now and would never go back. Granted my headlamp does have both LEDs and a standard Xenon lamp for long distance lighting, but I still use the LEDs 98% of the time, especially if I don't wanna kill my batteries in a single week.

It's cool if it switches like that, but I have to wonder how practical it is to make you choose between seeing your gauges or seeing your nav screen; even if it does give you some HUD information on speed, rpm, and such.

I still use a xenon bulb for mountain biking - it's tough to beat a properly-focused 55W lamp, even if the battery only lasts for an hour. The 3W LED flashlight that I've got is damn impressive, however, and hopefully ten years from now, incadescent bulbs will be just a memory.
