It was a 4.3 L V6 version of the LT-5, rated at 285 hp.

The Concept was 7 inches shorter than the 4th gen with a 3 inch longer wheelbase.

 

I love it every time this car comes up. I love the looks of it and I like hearing all the different opinions and the "what ifs..."

That really would have been a huge import competitor. The 4th gen was anyway, but this really would have stole some #'s from the competition overseas I think even though the 4th gen did sell really well in its early years. A longer wheelbase was one of the only things that would have helped the 4th gens look IMHO.

 

Side note:
What's cool is that if you go and watch Demolition Man and Minority Report you'll see a lot of concept cars in those movies. More notably, the Califiornia Camaro concept (and I think the Pontiac Banshee was in it too) in Demolition Man.

I agree... I dont care how important aerodynamics are to some people, a cars front end should not be triangular. (to the point that its nearly a 90 degree angle) Can you imagine what it would cost to repair that if you got in an accident?

 

I heard the the 4th gen was supposed to be with a new wheelbase. but cus of cost the old wheelbase was kept and thats why we have huge overhangs...
