V6, Z28, SS and then make a package that would be the equivilant to the current SS, but call it the RS. Bring back the old Z28/RS and SS/RS combo packages. No extra hp, just some appearance stuff and maybe some suspension stuff.
Dude, that is a great idea. An "SS"-like option for the Z28 and the SS in the form of the RS name with some upgrades.

And, once again, eventhough it's an uphill battle....I really, really think Camaro could benefit from an intermediate V8. A 300hp 5.3 would be perfect.

I think people are too stuck on HP numbers.. Make the lighter, more areo, better engineered and manufactured. I rather have it lose 500 lbs instead of gaining 50 hp..

However, I don't want the F5 to lose 500 lbs and 50 hp....

Some thoughts...
Camaro should always be more powerful than the mustang.
Base v-8 model: 350
Top of the line (Z28 or SS whatever not getting into that) 400
V-6 for the kids: 220ish
RS V-6 250ish.....

the current/last Camaro is already making 350 hp, so 400 hp is realistic for the next one. GM will just rate it at '375'.

I wish they'd make the numbers like they were. Never liked the sound of 346 instead of 350 either.

people are too stuck on "badass" LS-numbered engines and "badass" sounding displacements.. "yeah man.. LSD 454, let's get a beer.." most of which haven't existed for decades now.

it'll be interesting to see what happens if they decide to call the motor something arcane like "L3Y" and have it be a pansy-*** displacement like 359 c.i.d. .. this just amuses me,, happens all the time.
