Well, I imagine you will be able to buy one........... if you are buying a fleet of them for your police force.
Considering that the base V6 Charger starts at $22,995, I find it hard to believe that they are going to sell you a Hemi version for $5 more. The base V8 starts at $29,995, so, unless they are offering $7000 discounts right from the start............... I just don't see it happening.
I would think that if DCX wants to lose money on these cars, that they can sell this police package for $23K. The difference is that the Ford has long since paid for its platform on the CV, vs a brand new car in the Charger. If they do sell them that low at the beginning, it will just be to get their feet in the door........... so to speak.

^^ What i was thinking. Ford can charge 21-23k for a CV because it is as old as dirt and has long been paid for. So even @ 21-23k, they can still make a decent profit.
I don't think Dodge can do that with an all-new LX Hemi car. It is so much nicer than the CV though that Dodge can't seriously expect any profit at that low a price. It's good to see competition to the CV for a change though. Ford has long sat on it with their thumbs in their asses because GM was smart enough to kill its closest competitor back in 96, handing this market over to Ford on a golden platter
.
I really hope Dodge lights a fire under Ford's ***. Maybe they'll be serious about offer an all new modern and powerful panther replacement. Same goes for GM. We need a large Rwd v8 sedan.
A modern day impala SS would be sweet. Full size, Ls2 v8, Rwd
. With Ford, something stylish and mean looking with Rwd and a 350+ 5.4L v8 (assuming mach-1 gets similar spec 5.4) or even a blown 390hp 4.6L (ala 04 Cobra and new Adrenalin sports truck). Now that's something i'd like to see from GM and Ford.

Ford is supposedly investing a bunch of money in the CV/GM plant. They are supposed to get a major upgrade next year (the cars).
I guess we will have to wait and see.

The cop car Charger appears majorly decontented...compared to an R/T. Check out that interior, looks completely devoid of any trim and those wheels are 17" steel wheels.

If we're wrong and they can offer this Hemi charger for 21-23k, more power to them.

Various options on a Crown Vic Police car can send the price up....alot!
In general, most police cars typically run in the mid 20K range, about 5-8 grand discount over civilian versions, primarily due to purchasing quanity. Automakers DON'T "give" police cars away.
Odds are, although you'll see CV interceptors starting around $23K, you won't be seeing hemi Charger police cars go for that much. The engine's going to be an option, which with other related items should make it run around (best guess) around $24K.
Again roughly $5K or so less than the civilian version.

As for how to get one? I used to hang on a CV forum (Had a 98 CV for a while) and the only way to get a CV PI was to buy one used, or find a dealer who was willing to do some creative finagling to get you one. Basically the only way CVPIs are sold are in bulk/fleet orders, but if you have a dealer willing to help you out some guys would manage to get their car thrown on to the same order as the police cars and get a PI of their own.
So it's not easy to get the police spec car.
