Is the 300C overrated?
Is the 300C overrated?
Base model 300: Starting at $23,595.00 MSRP (excludes tax) 2.7L V6 DOHC 24-valve MPI, 190 HP
300 C: Starting at $32,995.00 MSRP (excludes tax)
5.7L HEMIŽ Multi-Displacement System Output V8 24-valve MPI, 340 HP
Doesn't seem as affordable to me as the stripper '02 Z28's that were going for $25,000.

Would be really neat if it were an aluminum block motor.

I think your just a little upset 87camracer, Chrysler just came in and kicked GM square in it's slow moving ***. Maybe this shot here will get GM up and going and put out some damn product that will get my heart a beating.
I never thought I'd like a DCX product till riding/driving in the new 300C. Well I don't like it... I love it!!!.
Will we ever see a RWD Chevy sedan the masses can afford??
Or will we just see an update of the current Impy/MCSS for another 8 years??

I'd definitely get a GTO before I'd get a 300C, that's for sure.

I have driven the 300C, and I would have one in my garage if the local dealers weren't selling them for 3K over MSRP. They are willing to deal on the tourings and limiteds, but the Hemi, fugedaboutit.

You haven't driven one yet, have you?
Is it a fad?
Is it like the PT Cruiser?
We seem to be really reaching here.
The Chrysler 300 is a fantastic car by every definition. Name another full sized car with stand-out styling, high quality interior, rear drive, and a lowball price of $23,000. And we aren't even talking the 300C there buddy.
Add the 300C to the equasion, and then you really have to start asking why GM even bothered to make the GXP, or if the CTSv is worth the extra $20,000, or who would really rather have a Buick... especially when their top couple of models start at $5,000 more with V6, front wheel drive, and a excitement level that rates on par with watching grass grow.
If GM made this car, we'd be falling over ourselves prasing it. An Impala sized car with rear wheel drive, CTS level styling, top quality materials, attention to detail interior, and powered by an LS2? You know we would.
But Chrysler, who has a habit of creating home runs when they are facing oblivion, most certainly scored one here. GM unfortunately gets to the table after everyone else has, so we can hope that the enthusiastic response to the 300 will show GM that their timidness in returning to RWD, or their belief that they can rely on incentives in lieu of exciting cars that don't cost much shouldn't just be rethought, but should be taken out back & shot.
.....oh, by the way, no. I don't think their over rated.

I agree it's a good value...but as stated above, it's not my style.

Seriously, the 300 reminds me of a Soviet era sedan. It may be a great value but it sure is UGLY!

Anyway, a little off topicish, the asstech wouldn't have been so bad if it looked like this.
Im sick of hearing how great this 300 is! Jeez. Its the best its so great , it has such a great quality interior blah blah blah. GM is crap GM is so far behind blah blah. If whoever loves the 300 so much go and buy one already. Its not the second coming of christ thats for sure, sheesh. In pictures that interior doesnt look that great to me but maybe its better in person. But GM should start picking up the pace though as far as rwd sedans.
