Honestly the 300c and gto are not in the same market. GTO is a 2 door grand prix with ballz, a 300c is an Impalla SS chaser, with luxury, and awful good looks, and presence!

I love the 300's even more every time i see them on the road!

300s are the ugliest thing since the aztec.

I'll take the GTO for $30,000 Alex.

the base 300C costs about 33k, just about the same for the GTO. I have seen both with dealer "rape".

Everything except have a convertable top and V6 edition.

I agree, they need to hurry up, so much cool stuff it coming out from other companies it is getting hard to wait. I'll also buy two. A 240HP 3.9L V6 AWD Camaro for the winter and a 400HP LS2 RWD Camaro for the summer

Aaahh right.

Lessee. The '05 stang will outrun the GTO. Have as much interior space. Cost $8K less. Not look like a Grand Am XL. Have a usable trunk.

There's nothing like buying a better car for less.

bwahahaa ... sure , sure it will outrun the '05 GTO ?...

as much interior space ? waiting for dimensions...

costa $8k less ? and it will show, in the quality of the car...

Look like a Grand Am ? No, youre just showing bias, looks are subjective.

usable trunk ? the GTO has had 1/2 its trunk taken , yet is still roughly the same capacity as the mustang .

The '05 LS2 GTO will be about as fast as the current Cobra (12.9-13.0) You think the new 300HP GT will be faster than that keep dreaming.

The interior looks about the same as the current Stang, but none of us have sat in it yet so who knows. How many cu. ft. is the trunk?

Same here. My top pick isn't listed. Heck, none of my top 5 picks are listed. The 30,000 dollar sporty car market is very broad.

1) 03/04 SVT Cobra
2) Honda s2000
3) Subaru STi (gotta love year round performance)
4) G35 coupe
5) 350z

Of the ones listed, GTO.

Have all those years of Mustang ownership lowered your standards? With the entirely decent 2005 Mustang GT on the way, the idea of GTO ownership is unthinkable.

"What does the GTO do better than the '05 stang."

Not a single worthwhile response. There is no response. Other than "Wait for the LS2 GTO."

I used to be a GTO fan till I started getting an idea of what the GT is bringing to the table. Simply makes no sense to buy the current GTO, unless you need a car TODAY.

An LS2 GTO? Sure. Great deal for the same money as the current GTO. It'll run close to a Cobra. That's a whole year out though?

what does this have to do with this thread...

you brought up the 05 stang... because ?

the GTO is doing well in the poll ?

your gonna have to wait untill the actual '05 stang is released before you can toot your horn about its build quality, mass produced 1st year model cars tend to lack that.

Not trying to start a war but a '05 300hp or 325hp Mustang GT isnt gonna be owning any '05 400hp GTO's anytime soon.

Me thinks some people are peeved that the GTO is doing so well in the poll.

Whole year out? October is only 5 months away, and if you going to compare it to the next Mustang you are going to have to wait just as long to buy that car.

If you need a car TODAY you can't buy the '05 Mustang GT either.

To answer your question the GTO will do just about everything better. Sure it will cost a little more but your getting 100HP more!!!, IRS, and a Z06 T-56 tranny.

Simple I was just asking the people who voted GTO why would you buy an $8K more expensive car rather than its direct competitor from Ford which will be here in about 5 months. So far the only thing I can come up with is if you NEED a car tomorrow.

Still can't get a coherent answer from the GTO fanboys. Just some garble about "wait till the LS2 gets here"

Wow. You can't buy an '05 GT today. I said that too. I think we all get that.

You think you'll be seeing LS2 GTOs by the end of this year? Keep dreaming. More like NEXT summer.

Not a single GTO fan can come up with ONE thing the current $33K GTO does better than a $25K Mustang GT. Performance? Styling? Utility? Economy?

I t comes down to quality and stuff plus the GTO comes with a IRS which the GT doesn't and even in its current state would come with 50 more hp. And also comes with a 6-speed
