2014 Motor Trend Car of the Year.....

That's awesome! It's such a hot little beast.
Silverado will win truck of the year. It's too good not too. It's going to be great beating Toyota (it was rumored they purposely pushed back their truck's release in 2007 to win the 2008 award). All they essentially did was a major body refresh on the Blundra, and somehow managed to make it look worse. GM's new engine family is far above what Toyota offers in trucks.

Unfortunate for the C7. That's what happens when you put out too many good products at one time... not that its a bad thing...
Thinking towards 2015 and beyond, looks to be more of the same: ATS-V, CTS-V, Z06, Omega Caddy, Camaro, Colorado/Canyon, HD Fullsizes... GM is going going to be cleaning up for a while.

Ya know, I just can't seem to like the new CTS. Something about it just doesn't sit right with me.
I would have been happy if the styling looked like the current gen with the new headlights & grille grafted on.
The new one just reminds me of too many other cars.
I guess it's not distinctive enough.
It looks softer & not as edgy.
But I guess GM gave the Chinese what they wanted. <sigh>

The C7 was in the running. The CTS, C7, and Mazda 3 were the three finalists. Maybe you're thinking of the MT Best Driver's Car?

Overall it's a very great and worthy car. The styling is nice but not great. I think the ATS looks better. Looking forward to the ATS-V/ CTS-V.
The real greatness for this car is the stuff beneath the styling. Precise steering/handling, fantastic interior, excellent powertrains and finally being the right size to compete with 5 Series, E- class. And it really isn't at heavy as I thought it would be.
It's a win for GM and their modern Alpha platform.
