Which to me is sadder.
They spent money on all new tooling only to have it look just like what they built 3-4 years ago.
I bet that is not the case.

I would hope that it's not the case. It would have been pretty dumb if it was.

But I see super subtle differences between the Outlook & new Acadia.
I hope it's just the angles of the pics and lighting.

Check out the dash board and details in this gallery - I think they did a pretty nice job on the interior:

I am really liking the interior.

French stitched dash, red accent lighting and lighted sill plates!

As far as the layout of the gauges, I am really surprised that there is no info screen between the speedo and tach. That is something I've really gotten use to in my G8 and has become common on newer GM vehicles, all though the Acadia now has available HUD, which is always cool.

I agree, and this is where I wanted to see the most change. I don't hate the current Lambda interiors, but they are definitely getting long in the tooth.

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

My wife has a 08 Acadia... and the interior of the current Acadia was always a nice one. This is about 2 steps in the right direction. Very nice!

As far as the front end... i am not sold on it just yet.. but I can understand they making the GMC Acadia a bit more "GMC" it has a lot more Terrain feel to it but I liked the sleek look of the nose on the current one. I guess it will grown on me once I see it in person. Kind of like a english bulldog...

My Mom's 2009 has HUD and an information center between the guages. It is a digital readoout (not some led/lcd thing) and has about 20 different options.

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

Too bad the Denali doesn't have the turbo 3.0L, what is taking them so long with that engine?

Rear bumper cover is different than the Outlook, but the rear hatch and rear fenders look the same. As long as it looks better than the current Acadia in person then I guess it isn't a big deal. 99% of buyers will never know the difference.

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

Looks good, I'd buy one even though it is a refresh. I love the Granite concept and since it's not coming, you can get something that has that look, albeit a bigger vehicle. I love the detailed interior and the brown interior color that the Malibu(?) started.

Hopefully the new Canyon will get this front-end and the large flared wheel openings that the Aisian market production Colorado didn't get.

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

I just noticed a lack of push button start. Or at least in all the pics I can't see where it would be (they do a pretty good job of hiding that area of the interior in all their shots). I'm a little disappointed that GM couldn't work that into their redesign of the interior and technology. I wonder if it might show up on the Enclave.

When is the all new design coming out? 2016 MY?

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

What's interesting is how push button start is some sort of advanced feature these days when push button start preceded keyed ignition. All the original cars with electric starters had it

Re: 2013 GMC Acadia

I appreciate the fact that it looks less like a minivan and more like an SUV. I've always gotten a partial minivan vibe from the Acadia/Traverse.

I'm also glad that it's the year 2012 and you can finally get a full DVD/screen-Nav/entertainment system in a GM product.

Yeah, push the button and the car is yours. These days there's wireless security built in to getting in the car and starting it. Some cars are even detecting the key in use and pre-setting the mirrors, seat, steering wheel, radio, HVAC, etc based on which key it approaching.
