My '99 Audi A4 wasn't like the Impala.

Michigan State Police tested a 2012 Impala 9C1 with the 3.6 - 6speed. There tests show the 3.6 to be some what slower than the previous LS4 Impala SS.

7.1 sec. to 60 for the 3.6 Impala
17.6 sec. to 100
Top Speed 150 mph.

Car & Driver tested a SS back in 2006 with a 60 time of 5.6 sec.

MSP test numbers have always been slower than magazine times. To me the 7.1 sec. to 60 doesn't add up. My Torrent GXP that has a non DI 3.6 w/6-speed does 60 in about 6.5 sec. The Impala "should" be at least a second faster to 60.

Too high? Have you driven a Ford Taurus?

It will definitely be in the low sixes or high fives at worst. Doesn't MSP ballast the cars with the kind of gear they typically carry in the real world? I think that is part of the reason why their times are always worse than typical magazine times. The Malibu with the 252 hp, non-DI 3.6L and six speed auto does 0-60 in the low sixes. This Impala has over 50 hp more.

It is entirely possible that the Impala will be quicker than the V6 Camaro.

MSP has changed there testing methods a lot over the years. I know they use to test cars with weight in the trunk, have a driver and passenger onboard and test cars fully outfitted with lightbars and spotlights, etc. But I don't think that is the case anymore.
