Sorry if I offended but I only post up things that are legit, not some fan's interpretation of what Ford should release. I agree, there is a gulf between what Ford believe is in the best interests of customer taste and what one artist perceives as being an ideal Ford Taurus.
It would be good if there were less photoshops doing the circuit IMHO.

235 horses, and prone to cam failures, but I was mainly responding to JakeRobb saying that it was a v6 rather than a V8. I think most SHO fans WISH there had only been the first and second generation V6 cars. Or that the 3.0 and MT had continued into the third generation.

The following information comes from Wikipedia:
----------
1989: first SHO. 3.0L Yamaha V6 - 220hp, 200tq - 5sp manual only
1992: new body style, same engine/trans
1993: adds a 3.2L version of the engine with same hp, 215tq, available only with an automatic. 3.0L continues for 5sp versions
1996: new body style, 3.4L DOHC V8 - 235hp, 5sp auto only
2000: SHO gone.
----------
I think it's a typo that the V8 had a 5-speed auto. I beleive it was a 4-speed.
I had been under the impression that the 1996-99 V8 was a 4.0L. Apparently I was wrong.

I remember back in late '96/early '97 the V8 Taurus SHO and the Supercharged Grand Prix GTP came out at about the same time and in all the comparision tests the Grand Prix GTP handed the SHO its a**.

The answer would seem to be that Ford Australia is the only group that can pull it off (Falcon, Mondeo). Why those cars haven't been brought here... I'm not sure. Maybe the designs aren't easily converted from right-hand drive to left.

Yah, I guess that was worded a little funny. Ford just needs a performance car other than the Mustang. Perhaps a sports sedan of some sort. And I'd agree...Let's bring Ford of Europe/Australia stuff over here.
