They call it an inverse roots-style blower, IIRC. The blower is on the bottom, which blows air up through the intercoolers (maybe, that part I'm not so sure on). Either way, the air gets into the manifold, and passes by the intercoolers, and then goes into the engine. Very impressive setup, in my opinion.

If that's not what you were asking about...please disregard

I'd be more excited about it if all reports didn't indicate it was going to be a 100k dollar car.

I get excited about stuff that I can realistically afford.

By the time I can afford a 100k dollar car that car's going to be an antique anyway.

True. I'll be lucky to see one of them a year on the road, and probably the same one each year on Woodward or something.

The engine doesn't "look" that cool? Doesn't bother me. For all the great things about the LSX line they never were good looking engines, so it's about what I expected.

Are we 100% confident that the LS9 is going in the ZR1, exclusively? What is the 2009 Z06 going get? Will there even be a 2009 Z06?

Is there still going to be a plastic window in the hood to see the plastic engine cover?

Yep.

Z06 will get the LS8 eventually.

how will the heat from the sun affect the exposed parts? down here in florida i'm sure the surface temperature will get to at least 140 degrees without the engine even being on.

I doubt the direct sunlight would cause the motor to get any hotter than it would from a dark color hood absorbing and transferring the heat to the engine bay.

I'll bet considerations of deterioration caused by UV light is a bigger issue, but still probably not much of one since glass these days can be easily made to reflect most UV light.
