2008 Mitsubishi Lancer
BTW: I haven't verified this yet, but more than one credible person is saying that the upcoming LX based Pacifica has been shelved. The next Magnum seems to be safe for now because it's sales overseas (with the Chrysler 300 nose & called the Chrysler 300C Touring) makes up for the pretty disasterous drop in sales during the course of the past year.
The CT-platform next-gen Pacifica was definitely shelved. I have heard that there will allegedly be a crossover-ish wagon on LY (next-gen LX) along with 300/Charger/Challenger/etc., all built at Brampton. That crossover may well end up being the new Pacifica, but my crystal ball is unclear at the moment.
I heard -- within the last week -- that the next-gen Magnum was canned. (Both privately and via an insider who posted to Allpar).

They might have been using the LX designs for quoting some of the systems for NG Pacifica almost a year ago...
Apparently the next Evo is also at Detroit, now in "prototype" form.

LOS ANGELES -- Mitsubishi will preview the redesigned Lancer Evolution high-performance model at the Detroit auto show.
Although dubbed Prototype X at the show, it will be a running car and very close to the Evolution that is expected to arrive in late 2007 as a 2008 model.
At the heart of the vehicle is the new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine expected to develop more than 300 hp. The current Evo makes 286 hp.
An automatic transmission also may be available. The current Evo is equipped only with a six-speed manual.
Mitsubishi designers have tried to give the Evo a more sophisticated and upscale look. Their goal was to broaden the car's customer base beyond mainly male performance enthusiasts. The new Evo also will have more interior room than the current model. Look for the production car to bow at the Tokyo motor show in October.

Not sure on what changes Chrysler is currently making (they apparently are rethinking some of the products they're planning), by the Caliber was not introduced as a Neon replacement. Chrysler was/is planning to replace the Neon with an actual sedan. Much like the way things panned out with Intrepid to Magnum then Charger .

Finallt, the Avenger SRT is supposed to be shaping up to be an impressive handling car by all accounts.

Kind of going off topic, but do you know how in the hell the Sebring got through into production. This car was dead before it hit the showrooms it seems. It has nothing to offer in my opinion.
