So instead of getting a 03 cobra you'd rather have say a GT? Or would you rather have a regular neon or an SRT-4? Maybe we should all buy scion tc's because there are so many "custom" dealer installed options including s/c's
TONY
I hope they do come out with a s/c lsx engine..... then all the "If you s/c a LS1 then we'll see who's faster" comments will have to stop.

On the other hand, take the same N/A version of that motor (found in the Mach 1), and to get to the same HP level, you'll spend more money, and still won't have the "built" shortblock to handle the power.
That said - I do prefer N/A power over a power-adder, but that is simply because of my personal biases.

I'd rather have a factory forced induction setup (which will have alot of engineering time in it to be reliable and make good power for years) from GM. There haven't been very many and what there is has pretty much gone down as legends. The GNs/TTAs, Syclone/Typhoons, etc. Even the relatively tame S/C'd 3800's GTPs and such have alot of potential and quite a following. Was there much hopping up of NA 3800s before that? Not really...
I would love to have a 03/04 Cobra if I was Ford guy, and I hope like heck GM does a S/C'd Vette and/or Camaro in the future, should be mean as all hell if done right just like the Cobras...

Really, what production sports car that's not made in italy get 600 + horsepower naturally aspirated? Keep in mind that 600 hp naturally aspirated usually involves TWELVE cylinders. 600 hp from a small-block V8 with a blower is a good deal of power, especially since its more than Ford can seem to do, since their GT has 500 hp from a roots blower, while the Z06 does it naturally Aspirated. With EIGHT cylinders.
600 hp is 600 hp, and on the drag strip how you get your power doesn't matter versus having it in the first place.

Wait... did you guys even read that rumor blurb?? It says the 6.2 should make 450hp NA and 600hp forced.
1) this is just a rumor.
2) if it's true you get both flavors
3) you're bickering about which one of the two should be made??
This is kinda like that other thread where we got a spy shot of a new platform and people bickered about the muffler's location.
So.... WTF is wrong with you??

Re: 2008 450hp 6.2L V8 Corvette?
To me this is a no brainer. I have to side with Bob Cosby on this, I prefer all motor power myself, it is a personal bias I have, but do you guys really think that strapping on your own power adder is really going to be as efficient and reliable as a factory FI setup? With a Blown 6.2, already making 600 freakin Hp, it wouldn't take much to get it up even higher than that. The LS7 would probably produce more Hp, sure, but it would be at the expensive of a $4k blower kit, forged lower compression pistons, possibly a new head gasket, mods to the fuel system to support the power, custom intake if its a PD blower, etc, etc. That crap is going to start to add up quick. If you want the gobs of power, then factory FI is the way to go. Even though I consider myself a fan of high revving, big displacement naturally aspirated engines, I kinda hope to see a detuned blown 6.2 in the top Camaro, to bring the battle to Ford's doorstep.
