2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang
Re: 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang
so special addition cars are boring...
wasnt those cars part of the big movement back in the 60's
Shelby mustangs, Hertz Shelby's, Yenko's, Baldwins and Twister specials, AAR Cudas.. and so on...Its called if people buy them ( and they will) they will make them..
so not sure why everyone is complaining about special addition cars like its overplayed..

They are only boring to those that have a hatred/dislike of Mustangs. Those same folks would be singing praises if it were special editions of Camaros or Firebirds that we were talking about.

Pretty nice looking. It's great that Ford is paying some homage to a time when Mark Donahue in a Camaro smoked them all over the country and all Parnelli did was whine like a sore loser and try to run Mark off the road every corner

only thing is the mustang is real and this 4th gen is just a dream...
Re: 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang
That car only makes sense because the Mustang die hards will buy it, but if you stop and think about what you are buying for close to 60k, then it becomes a bit rediculus. And yes............if it was a Camaro with the same modest tweaks, I would think it was crazy too.

Re: 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang
No problem, if you look at the styling of the car. At least from the bow, its got alot of 70 mustang to it. Besides during the 70 Trans Am season Mark Donahue wasn't driving a camaro. He was driving an AMC Javelin.
And on a further related note, Mark Donahue magically kicked PJ's *** with 3 wins to PJ's 5
with Ford taking 72 points in the manufacturers championship, American motors 59, Chevrolet 40, Dodge 18, Plymouth 15
Yeah it was a crappy year for Ford and PJ in 1970

Re: 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang
Ooops I read too quickly and thought the car was in tribute of 1969. Cause I said to myself why the hell would they pay homage to a year he lost? Anways 70 was when Donahue had the Javelin, my bad.
