Re: 2007 Cobra info

i wasn't talking about the gt
i'm talking about the shelby gr-1 that is most likely to replace the gt since it's underpinnings are the same, no?
someone correct me if i'm wrong here

so why buy an 80k car or whatever when you can have basically the same one for half the price?

I'm sure there will be about a bazillion posts on the automotive message boards about this within the next three days.

holy sh . That is insane and borderline overkill....i like it . Now i'll just cross my fingers and hope it turns out true. The hp/tq, choice of motor (supposed to be very expensive), and weight figures (200+lbs lighter than current Cobra but with bigger 5.4) are almost too good to be true. We shall see.

200lbs. lighter???? That would put it in the V6 Stang weight class, I can't see that happening unless the Cobra get a CF body, but then the price will be $50K

Meant 200lbs lighter than current SVT Cobra. Aren't the 04 Cobra's in the 37XXlb range? MT is saying this one will weight in the 35XX's. Still, with the GT's aluminum block blown 5.4 weighing as much as the Cobra iron block blown 4.6, and with the new mustang platform being heavier and bigger than the sn95's, it is hard to imagine that a future SVT Cobra would weigh less than the outgoing 04 model. The use of live-axle will bring weight down a bit, but they'll probably have to employ lighter parts and materials if this 35XXlb weigh figure is to be a reality imo.
