Re: 2007 Cobra info

Looks like someone riced out a 60's Mustang, I hope production doesn't look like that.

For what it will cost, I'll just buy a base Z51 C6 Vette.

That came off of BON. The pic is a PS and the info is speculation.

price-in and around 30k

wasn't the last one like 40grand or something?
and this pic just makes me think the cobra, if it departs too far from the gt styling, is gonna look @$$ ugly

Re: 2007 Cobra info

IF that car was built, the price would definately not be $30k. An optioned out Mustang GT just barely touches $30,000. Id expect it to be somewhere between $36-$38,000.

Re: 2007 Cobra info

Loaded '05 GT cost $30,000, '04 Cobra was $35K

Even if it had the '03-04 engine I'd still expect the car to cost $37K just from inflation and the new S197 costing more. Add the new engine in and suspention and other goodies and you are looking at a $40,000+ car. Base C6 is $43K

Only on the internet. Cobra-haters liked to point to the highest priced '03/'04 Cobras, usually a Mystichrome 'vert, and claim they were $40k.
In the real world, over the last 18-months or so, coupes left the lot for usually around $30-32k with some selling for under $30k.
That being said, I seriously doubt an '07 Cobra is going to sell for anywhere near "in and around $30k".
Upper-mid to high-30's (around $3-5k more than the '03/'04 cars) is what I'm betting. Ford pretty much held the price on the '05 cars with content taken into consideration, but I don't think they'll be able to do that with the SVT car.
It is supposed to be unveiled at the '05 NAIAS.

You mean '06. This year's NAIAS was '05.

I see a price tag of around $40,000 for sure. Look at the new Z06. It just proves that you'll charge more for a radically different engine and suspension components.

Oops.
I meant the New York International Auto Show. My acronym was wrong.

It has been announced by Ford that the '07 Cobra would be unveiled in New York.
