2007 911 Gt3

We've obtained some new scanned photos of the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 from an official Porsche promotional pamphlet. The official announcement is expected at the end of the month — or in early March — at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is powered by a 3.6L 6-cylinder, 415 bhp engine. Max horsepower is achieved at 7600 rpm, while torque tops out at 299 lbs./ft at 5500 rpm. 0-62mph takes 4.3 seconds, while 0-99mph is accomplished in 8.7 seconds. See lots of images after the jump…

I love it, much more than the turbo. It looks much better and isn't much slower.

115hp per litre! Wow! And I thought the Lexus IS350 was impressive.

For a Porsche, I alwasy liked the GT3s. Not of this pansy AWD Turbo stuff
More of a puruist car.

hp/liter is nothing, torque/liter is more impressive. that baby is putting out 83 ft-lbs/liter. THAT is impressive. an LS1 making 83 ft-lbs/liter would be making 473 ft-lbs of torque.

Ah yes, another car for the Z06 to consume.

The GT3 is pretty sweet, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually a little faster than that. Porsche has a tendency to err on the side of caution on their factory performance ratings.

I'm not a big fan of Porche's but that is pretty damn sweet...I like the previous style headlights better though, the new ones make it look sort of cute...The rest of the car looks pretty sick but the headlights just don't look aggressive enough, they need to be more like the Carrera GT's...Either way, I'd still rather have a Z06 any day of the week

Is this a naturally aspirated car, or turbo?

I am rather impressed with the horsepower figures for a 6-cylinder engine if it's N/A!

Torque/liter is a great way of looking at volumetric efficiency, but I don't see why hp/liter is nothing. The Porsche engine is making 287 lb/ft of torque at its hp peak, 7600 rpm, which is 96% of its peak torque. If an LS1 engine made 83 lb/ft of torque/liter, and made 96% of its peak torque (454 lb/ft) at its peak hp, and assuming it still made peak hp at 5600rpm, it would make 484hp, which is not too shabby considering its stock 350hp rating.

115hp per liter is even higher than the F430's 112hp per liter. I also always like the GT3s, for the same reason. They are more pure than the typical Porsche, not that a Porsche is a poor sports car.
