Factory LT1 43.5 Note: The shapes fo the GM pads is VERY far from being as square as the other pads above. These specs are a little less acurate than the other pad specs. Nonetheless, it still provides a relatively close comparison.
LS1 52.2
C5 52.2
* This is the Wilwood"basic" kit. it does not include the heat barrier 2 piece pistons. The "Roadrace" kit that includes stainless steel lines and Aluminum pistons with Stainless Steel sleeves is $1840.29.
** Baer/Alcon has a 4 piston and a 6 piston caliper available. The second numbers are for the 6 piston kit.
For a comparison of these pad areas to Porsche models: Compare these pads sizes to the "Big Brake" kits by Brembo and Wilwood. Notice the $3000 Brembo kit is just slightly larger than the smallest and earliest Porsche 4 piston caliper. And the 6 piston Wilwood is 20% smaller than the smallest Porsche. Even the Stoptech kit is approximately 20% smaller than the Mov'it and Prospeed kits.

For accuracy's sake, the pad area listed for the C5 front pads is incorrect. The correct area is 72 sq. cm. The corrected version of the chart copied above is at: http://prospeedmotorsport.com/brake_kit_compare.htm

The C5 caliper has quite a bit of pad area.....I've been using them on a few cars latley. Put some on a 3rd gen car and a 4th gen. For the $$$ it works wonderful. Tons of pads available also.

I have had the BAER GT+ kit installed for about 9 months.

It uses the Corvette C5 style calipers (very large for a 2 piston) and 13.15" by 1.25" 2-piece rotors with aluminum hats. They fit my 17" ZR1 and SS wheels fine with the exception that I have to make sure that the shop goes easy on the stick-on balance weights in the caliper area. They came with stainless lines.

These brakes are amazing!! Stock brakes were hard to get into the ABS on street tires. Now I can still get ABS operation on my R-compound Kumho Victoracer 700s.

I haven't measured the pad area, but it is very large. Also with C5 brake calipers, I can get pads from anywhere ... no special order Brembo, BAER Alcon or Wildwood pads needed here.

The Baer Kit is actually a Alcon product. Baer is there "street" or consumer baised product line. On almost all brembo product you can buy it from the Porche dealership if you know there part numbers.

The Baer GT+ system that ICORNER mentioned is based on the GM C5 caliper, which is built by PBR. That brake system doesn't have any Alcon parts in it.
