I'm sure that dealerships might be asking $18-21K for local trades that they put far too much money into.

Actually, I could get one for $14,995 for a sub-15K GTP Comp G or whatever on any day of the week - without even negotiating. The price has been advertised repeatedly, and at this particular dealership asking prices always carry a $3,000-4,000 markup. Or sometimes $8,000 - but not in this case!

Do you actually go to auctions?

$15k for a '04 GP GT? NONSENSE! These cars should wholesale somewhere around +/-$10K!

My response was to another person who recapitulated your post....don't expect any direct answers when you foam at the mouth. Woof!

Yeah, Jase, checked into that too already, didn't mention anything. In fact, that was the first place I looked. It shows a couple pictures of the current GP when showing the new colors, but nothing was stated about the front change. I really wouldn't be surprised if they did do this next model year though. Let me know if I missed it, you never know.

That CD ROM is the one I told you about a few weeks ago. Some cool stuff on there if you got all the GM lines on your disk too. It's almost like cheating in the advanced 2006 product questions!

Re: 2006 Grand Prix GT Question

Hey red,
1) Show me an ad. I'll give you my fax #. Better yet, if its on a website send me the link. I actually took the time to comb the local auto shopper ads this morning...lowest Comp G was on sale for $18,500 with 39k.
2) Yes, I do go to auctions and I will be happy to send you a copy of my Southern Auto Auctions (East Windsor, CT) buyer card, if interested. Please give me your fax # and I will send it.
3) Wholesale is not retail, goofball. And actually, I have a guy on a test drive as I type this. 33k mile '04 GP GT for $14,595. He said the price is great, and is test driving it for his girlfriend. And judging by the new F150 ext. cab he pulled in with, he's not exactly a country bumpkin, either.
4) Dog comments red? Come now...keep it civil. I only go for the jugular when you're obviously wrong, but I at least take the time to point out HOW you're wrong. You on the other hand ADMIT you GUESSED at what a price should be on a Grand Prix. If you don't like my presentation of the facts, too bad...but at least I base an argument on fact.

What are yours based on? How many people have started threads to ban you, versus how many have been started over me? Please share No foaming here red...lots of love

And to back up Jason, as well as thrash redzed yet again, I just looked on GM online auction two minutes ago. I pluged in 2004 GP GT and what came up was the estimations Jason mentioned.

For example, if you wanted to buy a 2004 GT wholesale around $10k, it would have 70,000 miles or there abouts. Otherwise, between 20-30k mile examples will run between $13-14k wholesale, give or take some for condition and equipment.

Now, as it goes for GTP's (non Comp G's with moderate but not over done equipment), examples between 20-30k miles are running between $15-17k. More for greater equipment and lesser miles obviously. So, in the real world, these are what they are going through the auction at. If a dealer has a sub 15k mile Comp G for $14,995, as you state redzed, that would be quite the deal, or likely, a deal that doesn't exist.

Lew, watch us get no response back And if we do, its only because a) I said that and b) He won't actually respond to what either of us said, but throw the conversation in another direction.

The guy with the ad for the Comp G in question probably had a $18,500 payoff on his car loan. That doesn't make it a $18,500 car.

You'd be surprised how much suckers pay at auction is they don't have a "system."

Wholesale is what the product is actually worth. Retail is just what stiffs and suckers pay. Just how much does dealership have into the 33K '04 GL GT? My guess is your dealership probably owns it for too much.

Why don't you post the telepone number of your customer (or should I say "victim") so I can educate on how much they're getting......

.....Of course, if the guy is trying to offload a recent F-150, you really have to wonder just how "upside down" the guy is.

Hey man, I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone. I'm just trying to represent the facts.

Jason E, is the one that's the Pontiac salesman.

I took notice that you really didn't give him any factually data or information at all in your last post. This isn't making your arguement look very well put together at all.

Redzed, you have no clue what you are talking about. Hey whats the cost on a pair of Nikes or a Sony television set? Have any clue? People don't mind paying double or triple the cost of those items. But if a dealership was to make that kind of profit on a car they are crooks.

BTW where is that ad on the $13,000 COMP G. I'd like to see it also.

Re: 2006 Grand Prix GT Question

The GTP models are definitely fun to drive, and 400.00 bucks in mods(PCM,pulley, intake) can net you high 13s pretty easily.

Re: 2006 Grand Prix GT Question

I could battle with redzed all day long about how WHOLESALE is not RETAIL (where even his wholsale price isn't realistic), how both of his purchase price #s are about 3k too low at a minimum, how I offered to send him a copy of my auction buyer's card (no response from him), how I asked him to send me an ad of this supposed $15k Comp G (again no response), how he didn't even bother to read my post (the guy in the F150 was NOT trading it in...did I say that anywhere???), etc...

But hey, anyone reading this post knows who's being realistic and who's being obnoxious. I guess I can leave it to the reader to decide.

2000GTP,
Its amazing what cheap mods can do on a GTP, as you know. That's the beauty of the '06 GT...near GTP performance at a (hopefully) GP price!
