The '05s are looking like theyre not making quite as much power as say, and LS1 Camaro, but damned if they cant hook what theyve got up eh?

Lets see in a few weeks what the ETs look like as the trap speeds come up with more power. (Through mods I mean)

This was also at a different track from the previous runs (that should be at a lower altitude being down deep in south Georgia.) so it's not really fair to say he dropped nearly 7 tenths with no mods. It's cooler and alot of the times they were posting for the Stangs and GTOs at Reynolds (the track from the videos) seemed slow to me... So alot of that .7 could just be the track. And a 1.85 on the stock 235 tires? They set that sucker up to hook apparently, although that could largely be good track prep too. Not saying he couldn't beat the stock 04 GTOs, just saying I'm not sure the 13.35 and 13.6-14.0 runs are directly comparable...

I would definitely like to see him go back up against the stock/fairly stock 04 GTOs, with a stock 05 GTO thrown in for good measure.

For the record I hope low 13s does turn out to be the norm with good drivers, I'm all for American cars performing well to beat down the ricer punks that infest every road in this nation... A new Mustang stuck in the 14s with stock Accords and Altimas nipping right at it's heels just wouldn't be right...

Kind of funny how this comes out shortly after C&D runs 13.3 in a '05 GTO.

Even funnier, it was witnessed by a z28.com member, as well as, 2 or 3 other guys who saw the car running at the track.

You guys need to check out the new Hot Rod. With some minor tweaks they got an '05 Mustang into the low 12's.

gotta remember guys: on those 60 foots, despite having fairly small rubber, its good stuff (pirelli P zero Neros) and the suspension was designed to hook.
as far as the traps, looks like the 3 valve still loses some steam up on top, much like the 2 valves. Be interested to see what kind of CFM those heads flow compared to the 04 2vs and the mach 1s, anyone know offhand the traps on a stock m5 04 GT? leave the autos out of it, the new transmission is far better than the old 4r70.
