2005 Mercedes-Benz Brabus E V12 Biturbo - New World Record As The Fastest Sedan
Re: 2005 Mercedes-Benz Brabus E V12 Biturbo - New World Record As The Fastest Sedan
Impressive and good, sure. What is weird is that it isn't much of a jump from Mercedes' own (AMG) twin turbo V12.

But yeah, this engine, the F430 engine, the LS7, all badass in their own right.

I wouldn't call the AMG v12 TT gay though. Anything making 604+hp and 738lb-ft of tq stock earns my respect.
And what's with the "it's ONLY making 640hp" comment? That's like saying the 427ci Ls7 is ONLY making 505hp compared to the F430's 263ci 490hp 4.3L v8. 164ci more displacement and only 15hp more. If it was boasting 427ci of displacement like the z06, it would power the space shuttle and make a gazillion hp. You get the point
.
This motor is both impressive and good. Same goes for the ls7 and the Ferrari 4.3L.

The LS430 is getting a ground-up redesign and will become the LS460 with a 4.6L with at least 350 horsepower. Add in a hybrid electric system option and Lexus is aiming at a total of at least 450 horsepower and AWD. That's still not true AMG territory for a car that heavy, but it's a big step in the right direction, and will also likely come at a much lower price tag. My real question is does Lexus dare to make an LS that actually rides somewhat rough in the name of handling, or are they going to try to add a more instantly adaptive ride control system that truely improves the handling dramatically without hurting ride quality too much.

remember, the SL55 only does around 600hp b/c Mercedes can't engineer a tranny sufficient enough, and efficient/reliable on a long duration to handle that kind of horsepower.
If you take the computer limiters off it, you gain an extra 100++hp If my memory serves me correct.
Gotta be the same issue in this new bimmer beast.
