Looks a lot better. All it needs is recessed grills. The GTO drifter grill look best.

I like everything except maybe the supersized "GTO" embossed in the rear fascia... it's so big that it begins to look a little tacky to me... which is particularly annoying on this car, because, otherwise, it is the exact opposite of tacky, IMO, by being gracefully understated and classy...

Re: 2005 GTO pics (rear and hood)

I really like the styling changes to the '05,but really, once you have a 400HP car for 33K,and even less after rebates, how could anyone complain.....It's a 400HP car that's dirt cheap! Who cares what it looks like, the only thing people will see is the rear anyway.
I remember i was really down on the styling of the '04 when it came out, then i actually saw the car in person and i changed my tune, granted it's not beautiful, but it is a handsome car. I really like the new Goat and since the '04 flopped, they're showing up real cheap as used cars, bad for the car and people that bought them new,but good for performance fans on a budget.
The improved '05 may be a bad sign though......with the vette as the exception, doesn't GM usually perfect a car.....right before they kill it off .........

Definetely looks better than than the 04. Did they finally add the dead pedal for the 05's or not?

Seems the recessed grills off the auto-x package work, this may be the recessed look some of you are for.

Recessed grill looks SO much better. Too bad none of the pics give us a view of the ENTIRE car from the back or front. Still, i think the hood scoops came out better than expected, i don't think they look ALL that terribly cheap like everyone complained about. Now if we can just get a picture of an '05 with a recessed grill. And if i can just get a nice pay raise i'd be buying one.

Drat. It would've been a better sleeper without the 6.0 badge and fake hood scoops.

I don't like the fake hood scoops.

In fact, if I had my choice, I'd delete the rear spoiler and add 18" wheels.

GM just keeps making their lines uglier and uglier

in my humble opinion

Love those Civic-esque taillights :blah:

My prediction for 2005: DCX market share increases sharply; Ford and GM scratch their heads and wonder why.

Looks good.

For the price and the quality of the car you cannot find anything is better.

Re: 2005 GTO pics (rear and hood)

Anyone see the car and driver comparo between the mustnag and the gto? Its amazing how a "retro car" can make a "new design" look outdated. The side by side pictures really pointed out for me how unattractive the GTO is or the first time. I really did not mind the exterior styling until I saw those pics.
