yes the GTO looks like a GP. the original looked like a Tempest, whats your point?
The GTO looks like it should have came out in 1994 instead of 2004 from it's styling.. which is pretty terible in my opinion. That is why a ton of people have a problem with the looks.. Glad you like it though.

Ignorance is when you like something because everyone else does!! Like i said in the other post, which you seem to be referring to in this post for some reason, i don't want or like recycled crap!! Either make it stand out and be different or don't do it at all. Don't slap a badge on a turd and call it a chevelle!!
what in the hell are you talking about? when did i EVER say that i liked the chevelle photoshop hacks? i think its uglier thatn hell. i know it wont be built because there isnt a place for it unless the monte or the impala goes bye bye. and as far as a fbody replacement, there is NOT going to be one. read this section sometime and see for yourself. THATS where the ignorance comes in. you have the resourses to see you are wrong yet you still spout off wrong info anyway.

Good luck thinking the f-body is coming back.
I’m 99.9% positive they won’t build the Firebird and Chevelle. Ask the big guys around here. They have already made it clear that GM thinks there isn’t enough room for two sport performance coupes at both divisions.

Plus that concept looks horrible. Chevy High Performance must have taken 10 minutes to render that. What a waste. Yuck.

its just a (not too good) photochop job on a GTO, i don't see why you guys are reading too much into it.

if done right the gto can be made into a cool chevelle, i just don't see it happening though.

yes the GTO looks like a GP. the original looked like a Tempest, whats your point? the original Chevelle was just like the original GTO; an appearence package for a base model car. the GTO was an appearence package for the Tempest while the Chevelle was an appearence package for the Malibu.

please people THINK before you spout off some dumbass response.

So i am a dumbass hunh **** brick? My point is that, that chevelle looks like TOTAL ***!!! Maybe its because u got no taste. You like it why dont u go make it because its not real THANK GOD.
yes the GTO looks like a gp but guess what incase you havent noticed, if i wanted a gp i would buy one, i dont want a rwd v8 ls1 gp, i want a GTO. The GTO is a half assed car by GM and everyone knows it. I mean they put it together in 18 months for christ sake, its a pos. That "chevelle" concept is total ***. NO ONE would buy it, well maybe you IT LOOKS LIKE *** END OF STORY. Also the chevelle was just a bit more then an apearance package splooge job, are you forgettin the totally different engine packages that it came with? like the chevelle SS 454 or the 396? I mean c'mon dont dispence BS just because you have no idea what your talkin about. The same goes for the GTO, chevelle and malibu different beasts. What was the malibu chevelle? that was an apearance package deal. THe chevelle was a totally differnt car. The gto, was also a totaly differnt car then the tempest, differnt drive train and options etc. It wasnt just an appearance package! Just because you like it doesnt mean everyone else has to. I think it looks a$$ you do not, no need for name callin b!tch

if you would read above i said that ive shat turds into the toilet that look better than that chevelle wannabe. end of story ITS UGLY.

people bitch because GM threw together the GTO. so what happens if the car would have been carefully and miticuliously planned out starting from the ground up? we wouldnt have a semi affordable RWD V8 car for ATLEAST another year. gm did what they had to do to get this to market. it is based off of a VERY VERY VERY nice RWD car from GM in australia, so i dont see the problem? sure it may look kinda plain compared to say a WS6 Ram Air car but if you havent noticed, the extreme looking cars (350Z, PT Cruiser, Prowler ect) sold great the first year or 2 then died off FAST. if GM wants to make this car a hit, which i really think its gonna be, it has to appeal to every customer. making it bland means the aftermarket can step up and let the consumer custom tailer the car to fit their individual style.

as far as the GTO and Chevelle appearence package aregument goes, the malibu could have been gotten with the same engine options (save for the LS6) as the chevelle of the same year if i recall. same goes for the GTO. sure later on both cars evolved into their own model but when they were originally introduced it was an option level/appearence package added on to a base model car.

and FWIW, if this info is wrong i will edit it out.

Even a child can tell that's a doctored GTO, a very bland, ugly attempt at a Chevelle. The "SS" badging reminds me of a 1st Gen gas cap, Toyota style tail lights, blacked out NASCAR type wheels(so...'90's).

BUT, I do think it has a very good chance of being built, NOT THAT, but a real Chevelle "based" off the GTO/Monaro, NOT a rebadged cookie-cutter version...Maybe with the New silver bar and gold bowtie on front, as seems to be the trend. And some classic round tail lights, not the square late '60's Malibu versions, with NO spoiler. I can see the cowl hood being adopted...

We'll just have to wait and see, but Chevy still has a BIG hole in its line up, the one Pontiac already partially filled, one a Chevelle could begain to fill...a more compromised domesticated sports car, NOT the HIPO"Niche" formally occupied by the "F-Bodies..(and hopefully again soon..) the working man's Vette!..

The Tempest & GTO shared bodies, true, but the GTO recieved Bucket seats, big motor/carb(S), 4-on-the-floor, hood scoops, and later a hood tach...Chevelle/ Malibu thing was more of an East coast/West coast style thing...Malibu's "usually" lighter, got smallblocks etc, Chevelle Sport Coupes got Big Blocks...More than JUST badging, "Performance Packages"...
AND, if there was room for a Pontiac Tempest AND a GTO then, there should be plenty of room for a Camaro AND Chevelle now...The Monte had its "shot", it's time for natural selection to replace it, along with the stagnant Lumina, PRIME grounds for a NEW Chevelle to take root...replacing BOTH...

I have no issues about sharing great platforms between cars..

But they would need to do ALOT better on reskinning the interior and exterior than that.. Its hideous! The GTO itself looks tons better than that.

And about the GTO.. Don't want to start another GTO argument, but I believe its definantly a step in the right direction for Pontiac, in the space of an relatively affordable lux sports coupe. (NOT a f-bod replacement)

Thumbs down

That looks as much like a cavalier as the GTO looks like a grand am. The front end needs to say 'Im superior', not 'Im an everyday driver'.

FOR ONCE, put a GOOD LOOKING front end on a car. I havent seen a single car with a good looking front fascia since the camaro. So fix up the front end and I'll like it.

I probably sound more negative than I really am, but Im really getting tired of these ugly front fascias. (That one isnt ugly... but being a direct copy of the cavalier is just as bad as being ugly)

You said it right there! ^ You don't have a problem with it.
I'm also trying to figure out where i'm wrong, the GTO looks like a grand prix, this "chevelle" looks like a cavalier. It seems like a lot of people agree that they don't want or like recycled crap. Yet you tell me i don't know what i'm talking about!!

Look at the difference is styles from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gen. camaros. They weren't cookie cutter cars, each had its own style and each sold pretty well!! To me GM is getting lazy, it's more of a "what can we use from these other cars" instead of making it "NEW".

87camracer this is quickly becoming a pissing match and that's not what i intended. However, calling people ignorant tends to inflame the situation.
