How does the Vibe sell?
We have one as a loaner till our (my) new car is ready for delivery. It is a base Vibe with the moon and tunes package. I was actually kind of happy to get it since I had never been in one. I am rather disappointed. I know it's a demo, but it only has 1,000 miles.
It has the 130 HP engine, and I had to pass someone on the Capital Beltway and thought the thing was gonna explode it sounded so stressed. On top of that the steering is erratic, it rides worse than my old 79 Firebird, and has forrible ergonomics. I like to rest my arm on the armrest while I drive and you can't do that with this car. Also the shifter is in an ickey place, and the whole wheel, arms, **** relationship is screwy. My fiance drove it and hated it as well, which stuck me as odd because she used to have a RAV4 she liked, which shares the Vibe platform. I seriously think it was named Vibe because of how hard the suspension is....and how it rattles on bumps. The engine is gutless and not up to the task....and the interior isn't really that comfortable.
Just a quick rant

As an owner of a 2003 Matrix, I can tell you that even the VVTI DOHC engine is a dog. I added a cold air intake and a Borla exhaust to no avail. It will run to 9000 rpm, but it has 0 low end torque. May be fun for the ricer crowd, but I am now looking to sell my Toy since my insurance has gone down.
