2005 Camaro waiting list???
Chances are, he put a money down so that he can get the first Camaro that comes to that dealer, if it does. An experience up here, a couple put down money for the VW new beetle years (I mean years!) ahead before the car came out. And when push came down to shove, the dealer must have had some contact with VW, and their Beetle was the fist new Beetle to be delivered. Pretty cool, and this may be the same kind of deal.

jesus guys it's not my fault this guy's smoked himself retarded, I just thought that since I've been so busy at work that maybe I missed something. Maybe it was wishful thinking. I figured he was just blowing steam up my a$$. Also his dad has been known to have ties to people who are on the inside loop of the new prototypes. I'll have to have a discussion with this guy.
BTW, I'm a 20 year old college student if that really makes a difference.
I apologize oh camaro gurus

He's either lying to you, or his dad's not the brightest person on the planet (I know I wouldn't blindly give my hard earned money to someone under those conditions). I also wouldn't put much stock on these "ties" this dad has. It's like a "friend of a friend" comment.
No need to have a discussion with him, people like that tend to want to be seen as important, so just refer him to this site (we'll take care of him
).I asked your age, because your post remined me of some of the high schoolers on thecarconnection.com whose dad had a friend, or whose neighbor has a buddy, or the guy at work whose neighbor is a car dealer said... posts I used to read there that were pretty off the wall in their claims.
to clear up a couple of things....
GM does not have a "waiting list." The dealers do. We can't sell directly to the public...state laws prohibit it.
Dealers create waiting lists. Many dealers truly believe that the Camaro WILL be back. (No, I'm not gonna spill any beans here...)
The dealers cannot actually order a car until we release an order guide...which is usually several months before the car goes into "Saleable production." (early cars are non-saleable......)
If the dealer is a close friend, he's perhaps sending a signal that "hey, when it DOES come back, you get the first one I get." There are many good dealers out there that we don't hear about.....unfortunately human nature is such that we all hear about the bad ones. But we shouldn't jump to conclusions that the dealer is a bad guy.........
I would not sit a lawn chair out in front of the dealership waiting for a 2005 Camaro. (Note that I DID NOT say the Camaro will not be back........)
