2005 Camaro waiting list???

A friend of mine from school IMed me today and told me his dad put his name on the waiting list at his local chevy dealer for the 2005 camaro. This guy wouldn't lie to me when it comes to camaros. Is this a bunch of bull? he said "As soon as he heard the new one was coming out in 05, he got his name on the list at the dealer"

that's what I thought, but I knwo this guy, and he knows how deep the camaro obsession runs in me, and he's a fellow chevy guy, so I wouldn't think he'd lie.

I just think I would have heard SOMETHING being a frequent reader of this board

Hey,
Maybe if we all start showing up at Chevy dealerships and start asking to be put on the 05 Camaro waiting list it will light a fire on GMs ***. Just a thought.

Yes, its a bunch of bull.

Even if there were to be a 2005 Camaro, they wouldn't be taking names for at least another 10-12 months.

If it's proven that there is a waiting list, I'll eat my shoes.

The car has not even been confirmed publicly. There is no waiting list.

I don't know where you find your friends, but he most certainly is lying to you.

Either that, or else his dad is one stupid dummy. I;ll take his deposit on the 2005 Eldorado if he wants.

Translation (if needed): Neither is comming out in 2005.

How old are you, anyway??

jesus guys it's not my fault this guy's smoked himself retarded, I just thought that since I've been so busy at work that maybe I missed something. Maybe it was wishful thinking. I figured he was just blowing steam up my a$$. Also his dad has been known to have ties to people who are on the inside loop of the new prototypes. I'll have to have a discussion with this guy.

BTW, I'm a 20 year old college student if that really makes a difference.

I apologize oh camaro gurus

Cut the guy some slack, it's not like he posted "the picture".

But if guinonM says there's not a chance of it being true, I'll believe him. He's been dead on for far too long.

Wouldn't surprise me if some unscrupulous (sp?) dealer was taking deposits on the next Camaro. Probably told him he could order the first one, as soon as 2005. Doesn't mean there will be a Camaro in 2005, just that they may be taking orders by then, maybe not. Who knows.

It always amazes me that people would even consider putting a deposit down on a car sight-unseen.

Considdering the way dealers are in general they will try to sell ya anything possible. SO if your friend went in a said I want to get an 05 Camaro I'm sure they would say, sure man sign right up and we'll call ya when it comes in - say we got a great deal on a Monte Carlo and some swamp land in Fla too!!!
