Maybe it will grow on me??? (I know the Charger sure isn't)
Maybe they should put the two next to each other and we will find out exactly what people like better really quick!

I don't know what she'll think of the HHR, but my wife thought the Dodge Magnum looked like a hearse.

A girl I went to school with always called the PT a mini-hearse. I thought it was pretty funny.

I went with my mom and dad to the local Chevy dealer that has the grey HHR in the showroom. Dad thought it looked great, Mom's response? "It looks like a hearse!!" She didn't like it. She commented it looked too short...it needed to be taller. Of course, she drives an Explorer and she's 5 foot 2...go figure My father is 5 foot 10, and while he didn't have an issue with the height of the vehicle, he said it felt like the B pillar was curved too close to his head...something my 5 foot 7 inch self did not notice, but I could see his point.

Later that night, I took my fiance by to see it. Her response? "It looks like a hearse!" She didn't like it, either.

Apparently, the "Grave Digger" comment made by someone in another thread is entirely appropriate And no, neither my fiance nor my mother watch monster trucks I just thought it was funny 2 different comments from 2 very different women yielded the exact same initial response.

For the record, while I think it looks a little short as well, I love it
I have a solution. Stop taking your mom and fiance to tractor pulls.

It'll be only a matter of time before someone custom builds a soundsystem out back of one that looks like a coffin!

Yea, The HHR makes it seem like GM is just pissing in the wind. But for hearses, I always thought the Dodge Magnum's were the hearses of the near future.

Neither one has been, but it would go something like this...

My mother at a tractor pull = angry because the exhaust reverberations are spilling her tea in her lap, the exhaust fumes are making her nostrils flare and her clothes smell, and the dirt in her hair would send her over the edge.

My fiance at a tractor pull = sitting on my shoulders trying to get a better view

I'm just thankful that despite being so different, they get along good...at least for now!!!

I can't believe "hearse" is a commonly used term for the HHR, Magnum or PT, but whatever...I actually kind of like all of them, despite the fact I don't picture myself driving any of them.

I guess the "historical" V8 powered RWD behemoth American stationwagon has been gone from us now for long enough that a whole generation (and then some) have forgotten they existed.

I see Magnum... I see early 1970's American stationwagon.

I see HHR and PT, I see heritage styled 1950's panelwagon.

However, there are those that never knew these existed... and the only thing they have to compare them to in the last 15-20 years are hearses. (Or is "hearsi" the plural for "hearse". )

A hearse huh? That is pretty funny. I was skeptical of the car at first, but after a closer look, I kind of like it.

Me too.. cause really.. as far as I can tell from reading and looking at pics... it genuinly looks like a good car. Styling is debatable, some people might liek it, or hate it.. but I tihkn its definantly not ugly.. Much better looking than the PT cruiser its often compared to.. I'd stop and look at one in person when I ever get the chance.

Re: 2 women's opinions on the HHR

My wife saw an HHR driving down the road and called me on her cell phone to ask,

"What is this PT Cruiser wannabe that I am driving behind?"

Re: 2 women's opinions on the HHR

At dinner earlier, I commented to my father that Mom and Ashleigh made the same comment about the HHR. His response? "I think that when I see the Magnum"

Apparently this hearse thing is more serious than I thought...
