2.0 S/C future

any word that 07 is the last year for this engine. Two facts lead me to this reasonable possibility:

1.I find it odd there is no G5 equalivalaint.

2. engine is still (under rated) not rated hp using the new SAE measurments.

thoughts?

I think its going buhbye as the only 2 cars that use it, one is gone from the line up, and there are plans to put the turbo 2.0 into the Cobalt.

i think he might mean the ion redline and cobalt ss, the ion is gone, and the astra is taking its place, so i assume thats what he means. I would imagine the astra will get a redline version and the cobalt ss will both switch to the turbo 2.0. as well as the hhr ss. So i imagine the 2.0s/c is gone, but i dont know if 07 is the last year.

Its a nice engine, but the s/c is kind of limited. Its a struggle to break 300hp with it and anything more than that requires alot of money. I'm looking foward to the turbo engine. The instant throttle response is nice, though.

I see replacing the 2.0 S/C with a 2.0 turbo as a move in the right direction. For the younger generation, turbos seem to be the concieved preferable power adder... after NAWZ I guess.
