I don't really care what it's called. Just glad GM will have a car like this again!

 

I am just waiting for the SS SS.

 

A VF Commodore HSV powered by a Gen V V8 would be an impressive sedan in any name on it.

I would be driving a G8 GT if it came with a manual. I am highly interested in this when it comes out if it has a manual transmission. Auto = no buy.

 

I would guess the availability of a manual will be based on the number of trims it comes in and their expected level of sales. They may do the same thing as with the G8 and only the highest trim got the manual option but if there will only be one trim that comes loaded at about $40k then they may give that option. Or they may look at the Charger and Taurus SHO and think manuals offer too small of a market share to care about.

 

They should call it the Chevrolet SS RS GS Z06 ZR1 Super Happy Edition.

 

Personally, I think the name 'SS' would only work on a car similar to what was done with the SSR, and even then it's a stretch.

 

People in Oz have mentioned that so far it looks like an HSV level Commodore with the staggered wheels and spoiler. They'll have to go all out performance and looks wise so that the SS name fits.
