Can't wait for the CTS, CTC, Malibu, and Vette Manta Ray/Blue Devil/SS/Sting Ray. This will be a good show season for sure.

Haven't heard anything about reskined Colorados or Canyons, but I think you have the Saturns right.

Is this the coupe Fusion that a few people swear is coming and widely known about?
No Fusion coupe. The only coupes we'll eventially (and possibally) see outside of Mustang is the next Thunderbird and a Lincoln.

MKS?
I doubt a production version would be considered a concept. I suspect this is something else.

BTW: we should also see a US-spec Skyline this season as well.

This timing is anywhere from 9-12 months off. More if any problems come up. Certainly WON'T see anything production in the upcoming auto show season.

I think the if MC is truly destined for RWD, it would likely be one of the LAST cars we see rolled out.

Just think of the cars that could potentially be rolling out! I don't think GM wants to step on its own shoes on the release dates.

When I read 2 Saturns, I assumed Vue and Astra, but somewhat hoped for Aura RL.

and the Torana based Pontiac speculation.... that would be SWEET. 3 RWD Pontiacs would sure boost the division. Maybe they are going all RWD

Yes, but I think he meant GTR, they're 2 seperate beings now.

Re: '08 Malibu revealed to dealers.

I am a little surprised that is seems to be a given that this new car will carry the Malibu name.

Honestly, I think this is a good candidate for an all-new name...

Malibu doesn't generate a lot of excitement, and it's known for being bland and boring.

I am sort of hoping they make a new name ala Cavalier to Cobalt.

Of course, Malibu does have some value in that it is generally has been listed as having good quality over the last few generations, whereas Cavalier did not... still, this is one name that I think could be put aside and more excitment generated with an all-new name.

Re: '08 Malibu revealed to dealers.

I'm wary of the whole renaming idea. People too easily dismiss the value of recognition. The mere fact that people know what a Malibu is makes it supremely valuable, and GM would need a damn good reason to discard 50 years of marketing efforts.

It would be one thing if Malibu was a joke as for instance the Grand Am was at the end of its tenure. Right now the car is boring, but it is by no means an embarassment.

They are not any more separate than they have been in the past are they? It;s just that nobody in the US has cared about the regular Skyline.

The GT-R will no longer have SKYLINE written on the back of it. That's about it. It's still going to be based on the G35/350Z chassis(from what I can tell of the concept, kinda obvious).

Re: '08 Malibu revealed to dealers.

Why not rename the Malibu as Chevelle or Bel Air?? I know it is WAY off of historical base...but it would be a cool *** name?

Who is to say the production GT-R won't be on the M45 version of the FM chassis? AWD and bigger engine bay for either a V8 or TT V6 would certainly be heavier but likely a more cohesive car overall.
