Something doesn't jive here...the Wall Street Journal, Bloomburg.com and Nissan itself is reporting a decline of 5.6% September on September.

Aside from that the sales figures they are reporting; 88,340 in Sept '06 vs 93,540 in Sept '05 will result in a % decline of 5.6% (88,340 less 93,540 = -5,200; 5,200 divided by 93,540 = -5.559%)...maybe they simply added wrong!!!

What specifically are you "woo hooing" about; that Nissan is down 5.6%; that Toyota is up 25% or that GM is down 3.1%?

I dont see anything in the above statements mentioning Toyota or GM, so it should be safe to assume he is WooHooing the fact that Nissans sales are declining. I agree with him...WooHoo! I hate Nissan, so any bad news about them is good news to me.

Then you need to broaden your reading a bit.

GM sales are down 11% year to date and 3.1% in September; Toyota recorded a 25% increase in sales in September. Apparently the OP was so thrilled about Nissan's 5.6% drop that he/she missed everybody else but they are in other threads and being reported in every major financial news outlet.

These figures are all month on month (September '06 compared to September '05)...I just happened to know GM's U.S. sales for the year to date because the WSJ reported it but I haven't seen Nissan's YTD figures yet.

I haven't had time to read the press releases yet but as soon as I do and/or see it reorted I'll post here.
