The first pic has been seen before.
As far as I know, the last two are new.

Looks good. I like the overall proportions. It seems that the tail lights will be a good bit different than the CTS. I am also wondering about the 4.2. Why drop the displacement...........why not bump that up to say a 5.0?
Looks good, I too am puzzled by the engine size. Maybe its a typo or somthing. I can's see Cadillac going twards smaller motors. Especially since the 4.6L Northstar is almost taxed out to get 300hp as it stands now.

The 4.2 Northstar is for real. The SRX will have one. Maybe it'll be the base-engine.

A few years ago GM had planned to drop the displacement of the Northstar to 4.2 so I was a bit surprised to see it come back at 4.6L for the RWD cars. Maybe the Car Connection is working off old news, or maybe GM wants two displacement levels. This would make it easier to bump up the horsepower of a future STS-V model
.
The 4.6L North Star is hardly maxed to push 300hp. I would venture they never exceeded that because of the FWD setup.
Now that the North Star 2 is out with RWD they could crank it way up. But in a heavier car, like the SRX--they don't wan to sacrifice low end torque.
Love the looks of the STS--not quite as angular as the CTS--and AWD will be an option---a new direction for GM as I think the last AWD car they had was the Ponitac 6000 STE.
I am alos hoping the STS has beter tailights then the CTS---which are huge!

Don't get hung up on the engine size listed with a spy shot. Take it for what it is: a spy shot. Let's think about it; the SRX was just released on the sigma platform with a 255 hp 3.6L HFV6 and a 320 hp 4.6L (rear drive) Northstar. The XLR roadster was just released with a 320 hp 4.6L (rear drive) Northstar. The STS will be on Sigma, like the SRX. Do the math...
The only 4.2L version of the Northstar I can think of was the supercharged 4.2 that showed up in the Evoq concept car (which, of course, was the inspiration for the XLR).
Here's hoping...
