Post '04 Cadillac CTS news

To follow up on past rumors, Cadillac CTS to arrive with 350hp V8 for '04, aswell as more potent V6 and interior trim upgrades.

Cadillac's CTS to get upgrades, V-8-powered CTSi for '04 model year

An already GREAT car getting better!!! This is what I like to see!!

I also like the quote that says something to the effect of "the days of making a car and putting it out there for 5 years without a change are over!"

AMEN!!!!!

Let's see if they stick to that statement across the board!

I thought it was supposed to have 400HP V8? What now, only 350 HP?

I too thought it would get the LS6, but 350 HP should still allow it to outrun an M3, the probable target.

I thought the M3 was just a hair behind the Z06 as is. You think the CTSi with 350hp will do that well against it?

Nope. According to BMW's website the M3 coupe features a 333 HP V6 and weighs in at 3415 pounds (the CTS is about 100 pounds heavier.) I'm guessing that the LS1 will have a pretty sizeable torque advantage over the DOHC V6 as well.

Quite frankly, a CTSi with an LS6 would likely obliterate an M3 coupe.

...and an LS1 certainly wouldn't treat it much better.

CTS was a landmark vehicle for GM to produce.

And the fact that they are taking a very succesful car, and upgrading it so fast says a lot of good things to me!

OMG, just what I want to hear. I want it!

Give me one, all Black, with nice interior, tan perhpaps.

Hehe. Now imagine if there was a big aftermarket for the CTSi.

I thought Lutz approved the LS6 version of the CTS.
Maybe that's being planned as an upgrade for later model years. Hell, they're updating it after one model year! That's nuts! I suppose they'll throw in the LS6 later on.
