So to end my rant, please cut GM some f*cking slack. They didnt get to be #1 by just building cars on a whim. They are pumping out cars for the everyday person, you know the 90% of people who cant tell the difference between OHC and ABS. They are moving faster then anyone else right now. Just because they arent building the car for you with your very own monagram towels, doesnt mean that hey are lagging behind or going to fall apart.
Friggin Snoop Dogg calls up some CEO and everyone goes crazy like DCX is gunna take over the globe
Thank you.

that's the point though innit? GM ALWAYS builds cars for the masses. cars that are safe to build, no risk cars. they are never at the forefront, always on the trailing edge of a trend. that may be fine for them as that is how they run business, but what's in it for us enthusiasts? there are plenty more exciting shinie things to be gawking at on the other side of the fence. if we don't get eye candy on our side, sooner or later people are gonna start jumping the fence. simple.

I must belong to the 10% that actually knows better, because with the passing of the C5 Corvette there isn't a single GM product that I would actually consider owning.

On the other hand, Chrysler has gone from the bottom of my list to the top.

You know, I dont understand who people are trying to upset when they say that they are gunna jump ship. Im not upset, and neither is GM. Yeah, go buy a mustang when it comes out. Its not like GM lost you...they dont have a car for that spot in the first place. They already gave you up, so it doesnt friggin matter. While Ford gains Mustang owners, they lose sales from the Taurus, Crown Vic, and Focus to cars like the Impy, GP, 300, Cobalt, Vibe, etc etc.
If you want to buy a Mustang just to show GM you cant wait, well then thats fine with me. Just dont come back to GM when the Camaro comes back, you can be happy with your 300hp Mustang. Only thing that upsets me is that after all this info you find here, and after all this insider info about a future Chevy Coupe, you guys will still buy a Mustang for what reson? Most of you guys have a 4th gen most of them come stock with more hp then the new Mustang. Why are you buying it? To show GM what needs to be done? Id gladly wait 3 years if I knew that the Camaro was coming back.

you just don't get it. nobody is trying to "show" GM anything. it isn't about GM in the first place. it's about who has what the buyer wants. if it happens to be GM, good for GM. If GM doesn't have it, the buyer will move on. so don't get so dramatic.

I think the Aztek was a risk car but it was one that didn't pan out. But hey they do take some risks. BTW I htink having the Nox and the HHR and the possible Nomad on the same lots will be very risky.

Also I would consider the Solstice a risky venture. At 20K per car they can't be making that much money off of them. Add in the limited production and also the fact that the platform was put together quickly, no dumbing down. And I think you have a VERY risky car. If the Solstice doesn't do well, I don't see how that could happen unless dealers do what they are doing to the GTO to the Solstice, then I could see GM doing a WHOLE lot of following for the for-seeable future.

The Solstice will actualy be very profitable due to the way it will be produced. I dont see the Solstice having a lot of problems selling. You had to see the eyes on people when they said pricing will be around 20k. My dad thought it was a BMW, and then when I told him its a Pontiac for 20k, he was shocked.
I want a Solstice in the worst way! 205hp Supercharged Ecotec with 5spd, and big 18's! Gimmie Gimmie GM.

GM has become to compartmentalized, too many focus groups, too many play it safe cars. It is the largest auto manufacturer in the world, they should be able to build the best vehicles. Always behind the curve, like Big Al said, GM lost a lifelong GM guy when DCX came out with the Hemi. It is a LS1 in a light (1500) duty truck. When the LXs came out, I was irritated that GM couldn't produce a sub 35K car with RWD and 350 hp! I am waiting deeper rebates on the 300C or Magnum, then I will be all DCX.

I dont really think GM cares if you got a hemi truck or not. Dodge sales are still behind the GM trucks, even with all that hp, addvertising, and that famous line.

And GM does make a sub 35k, 350hp, RWD car... and ours comes with a 6spd, leather, 200 watt 6cd in dash Blaupunkt radio along with color coded gauges and seats. Its called a GTO. But I guess because (insert reason its not a GTO or shouldnt be called a GTO here), that doesnt make the list.
