winter driving tips
With winter comming arround........
Anyone have any good winter driving tips? I don't consider myself a great driver, How about the basics? Like what to do when the back end of the car wants to come arround?
Stay on gas, get off gas, brake dont brake, ETC.........
Just thought this would be the best place to get some tips, if not mods please move this to other location.
thanks.

Get snow tires. This is the best winter driving tip. I have used snow tires on my old L98 IROC and LS1 Z28 for winter driving and this was the hot ticket to get around with ease. As far as specific techniques are concerned, in deep snow, do not be going fast enough to break the front or the rear loose... After that, it's situational, as to how you should respond...
You drive a 95 formula and I'm gonna give you the best tip of all; don't drive your f-body in the snow.
I had a 95 TA and couldn't get it passed my driveway in a little snow. I've learned my lesson and my 02 f-body will never see snow excepted through the garage window.

I'm with Keith. Get a set of dedicated winter tires.
I drove my SS one complete winter with them & 100 lbs in the trunk and loved it. What I didn't like was what the snow, sand and salt did to the car.
As far as driving, easy does it, and keep your eyes and wheels pointed where you want to go.

I'd have to agree with snow tires in a place like Winterpeg. Pittsburgh gets alot of snow too but Reno, Nevada.
You couldn't get much more snow than a light dusting like here in Vancouver don't you?

well i was as at summit last weekend for seat time and it stunk. First of all the cold got to the tires and they didnt grip what so ever, even though the tires were getting worn down. i also heard u can buy eletric tire warmers but they go up to 2 grand or more... Well i am paking it in for the winter.
