Talk about a Crash Course

Ive been a member of cz28 for sometime now, and i never really made it to this section. Well today i figured i would check it out. Well i cant believe everything i learned within 30mins. Im so dumb, all the suspension questions i had were right here.lol. Well reading a few of the posts im not sure if i picked the right things for my setup. Im just going for an all around fun street car. Autox here, few highspeed runs at No problem Raceway or similar. So far i got
BMR: springs, adj torque arm(stock was cracked), adj panhard, tubular LCAs, tubular SFC's,

I also got the Hal's 12way adj shocks. While i do hear they arent really the best for autox and roadracing. I already bought them so i gotta work with them. Are they good for anything atleast?
With all this talk about diff spring rates and shock combinations. Im not sure im on the right path. I really dont want to have to sell my stuff and get anything different.
Peace
Omar

Don't let people scare you off on the Hal's. A buddy ran those for a couple of years at the road courses they handled and held up great. I doubt you will have any problems.

Well that makes me feel a bit better. I figure since i already have them i might aswell keep them. Anyone else got any insight on what else i could add. I have a 94 firehawk but im not sure if SLP put the bigger sway bars on them. My car didnt get the bilstein shocks or anything.
Peace

I would be concerned about the BMR PHB. More than one friend has had the ends stretch out of shape (oval), or fail completely.

Other than that go out and have some fun.

Chuck does have a very good point. Myself, Mitch and others have had BMR failures with the BMR panhard bar when it is put on the road course.

A preemptive strike ...

Before someone post up about how you can't expect a piece to last forever when you put it to extreme use ...

1) I'm an old man and drive like it. Chuck and James should back that up.

2) I've never seen a STOCK LCA or PHB in F-Stock or T2 elongate or snap like my BMR crap did. If you buy aftermarket pieces one would expect at least the same amount of durability you could expect from stock.

If you have BMR on your car, check it regularly.

Damn i heard so much good about them. I didnt know it was this bad. I hope it turns out okay. Did BMR do anything to correct all this, or did they just leave you all out in the water.
Peace

did you already purchase the bmr stuff?

I didnt do it, but a lot of people on here say one of the best mods you can do starting out is upgrading to a 35mm front sway bar (though i believe they are all solid so somewhat heavier than stock)

DMS makes some good products, and a lot cheaper than what I've seen elsewhere. I havent had the stuff on my car for very long, but it made a pretty good difference. Only thing I need to put on right now is adj phb, waiting on the bushings.

but yeah, this forum has def made a big difference among what I spend my money on now, it's not just about going fast, I'd like to be able to turn now

They will probably never fail drag racing...just making hard turns.

I am not sure anyone contacted BMR, since they were long out of warranty.

Most guys just replaced their with a LG panhard bar... I am going to try just replacing the poly ends with rod ends from LG.
