Shock Problem (QA1)

I figured this is probably the best forum to post this. I'm installing my brand new, out of the box, QA1 (formerly HAL) adjustable shock abosrbers and I might've ran into a problem. While test fitting some of the modified factory parts onto the shock it all of a sudden became a lot easier to extend/compress and the sound of fluid flowing in the body was more apparent. The adjustment **** didn't have much affect on its performance either... the other shocks are extremely stiff at setting 12 but not this one. After rapidly compressing the shock a few times it is now much stiffer on extension but compression still feels relatively soft.... although the adjustment **** does have some affect now.

Is it possible that the compression valve is not closing correctly? Never having had one of these apart I don't know what kind of valving it uses. I have a suspicion that running the shock on the car might get everything straightened out by moving some fluid through it? I won't be able to talk with QA1 until Monday but if anyone has any experience with rebuilding/revalving these shocks maybe you have some ideas? I know on some of these you have to tap the shock to force the compression valve open and maybe jarring the shock on the workbench did this?

I'm VERY anxious to drive my car again but this one freakin' shock is giving me headaches! If I don't have to sit on my thumbs while QA1 inspects and/or repairs it I'd rather not. I also don't want to go through the extra effort of installing/removing and then sending it out either.

Any ideas are very much appreciated and a special thanks to Injuneer for his install guide, I'm sure it's saved me time and headaches.
